Well we have the advertising agencies communicating products to us,the daily news cast or newspapers letting us know the daily events around the world, the weather forecast letting us know the weather, the politicians broadcasting more lies about their polices and these are all forms of daily communications we do not participate in yet want to know about.
I try to limit my experience of the newscasts to a bare minimum simply, because they broadcast far more negativity than positivity in my opinion and I like positive things to be influential to the way I feel not negative one's, but I know plenty of people that do watch the daily newscasts.
Yes misunderstandings while communicating can occur at times simply, because the written wording is misunderstood, but misunderstandings can also occur in a face to face discussion especially when two people have a different sense of humour.
This discussion is so stimulating for my mind and so many great opinions on this blog to read over and over.
I will take a time out now my friend and have a spot of tea
Other countries have different laws for women and they do not have the freedom to express themselves, but I suppose we all have to live by the laws our countries set.
I won't venture deep into these waters, but in some countries adults are allowed to marry children at the shocking age of only eight years old and I can't understand why any countries would allow this to take place?
Yes being a college professor I'm sure you know plenty about communication and I welcome your input to this subject.
I agree that face to face has to be the best form of communicating and it's far easier to get to know someone face to face, because of the list you presented.
I have not got the no-verbal down to an art form, but verbally I have no problem expressing myself.
A smile can make a big difference to the way in which others perceive use and it also has an influence on how others feel around us too.
The positive approach with no arms or legs crossed and a eager look on one's face is the way to be if possible.
I can bet your children make you smile a lot and bring lots of happy thoughts into your mind a lot of the time, plus you have a sweetheart to make your heart warm with the feeling of love inside it.
Yes you are correct we need face to face friends and it's also good to have online friends too
I have missed out letters or words before when I,ve posted something and realised after that the sentence did not make any sense, but lately I really do try to concentrate before I post anything and if it's a blog It can be corrected
You seem to be very wise and much like myself a very deep thinker too
I enjoy long thought out discussions on various subjects and it may take me a while for me to compose a reply at times, but I like to think about my reply and fully cover the subject being discussed in a descriptive way.
You remind me a lot of Lind and I always enjoy reading her writings too
I am fine with typing on the computer and can compose a fairly good written piece, but pen to ink I can't get on with
No we won't be meeting personally, but I still enjoy chatting with folks on here and am opened to the idea of making a few online friends along the way
Minerva88, Thankyou for your very descriptive and most interesting view on this subject matter.
I find this site to be a great way of communicating with others and that's just from participating in the blogs or threads, but we also have the email option, plus everything is free too.
My girlfriend and I only communicate in two ways and they are by telephone calls or face to face meeting between us, but I can totally understand that if folks met online they would continue to communicate via text or email, because that's how they originally met.
I'm not saying we can always read people's body language in a face to face meeting, because signals can get confused when we are first getting to know someone and sometimes we could read them wrong, but if it is someone we know well we can usually tell how they are feeling by their body language or voice tone.
I would like to compliment you on your writing and say that I very much enjoyed reading your reply.
I am a deep thinker and therefore find it near impossible to get on with text messages, because I can't go into detail like I want to and even if I did nobody would read page after page
My writing is not the best in the world and no spell checker either to help me and it would be bottom of my list of communication.
My typing is fine and the spell checker helps out sometimes, but the words do not always match exactly how I am thinking or feeling, plus adding the element of humour is not straight forward task for me when typing it out.
I like telephone calls and I am able to express myself in a way I want to by phone, but you still can't tell what someone else is thinking or feeling without the body language of a face to face encounter.
Welcome James I may not have learnt how to play chess, but I learnt plenty enough with life's experiences and the brain is like a sponge it keeps on soaking up more and more information
The brain is opened to learning and on this site many wise folks can teach us many new things.
I open my mind to the experience of wisdom, knowledge, life's experiences and friendship
The adventure is in it's early stages and my ship has plenty more sailing left to do, before it meets it's harbour
Ded, Very interesting comment and perhaps if one was cold they might ask for a blanket, but does it need to be pink? I wish I could play chess but never learnt to play. On the subject of toilet seats I would have to say that my girlfriend will be happy with my decision to leave the toilet seat down in future
Sunday, The 1980's was special to me and I even love a lot of the 80's music to this day
How much fun was it to be so young and so carefree
I remember Playing arcade games, building snow men, climbing trees, roller skating, Ice skating, skateboarding which I was rubbish at hind n seek, building a tree house, dressing up for Halloween and going trick or treating, camping etc
After reading all your scriptures I have come to the conclusion that "your god" as you put it is only your god and is not the type of god the majority of folks on here would want to believe or follow, but you are well in your rights to your own opinions and so are the rest of us.
Dan, I am not religious in the slightest and find it boring personally, but I don't go on blogs I don't find interesting anyway, so it does not matter to me
RE: Bless Everything...
Others can also hurt you physical or physiologically and life is not easy.
