Well windows 7 will be done with patches with security and if you have a 32 bit it would be slow. I bought a gateway 64 bit running windows 8 but it was able to migrate to wins 10. Works fine laptop. Mac mini was a 2014 and just bottom line $499 so I didn't upgrade to the new Mac mini big jump in price 799 but I still could it is only last years upgrade. But if my calculations are right. My first year mini will end the last operating system. The same year as a new one will be introduced. Every 4 years.But for a Mac with Desktop you are spending over 1200.00 for a system. Mac mini has some snot. But you got to buy a monitor. I bought a nice ultra Sharpe 23 inch for my Mac mini. Miss BC My mother worked around tech all her life retired 2006. She has no idea how to fix a pc. I gave her a iPhone and a Apple watch for Health and walking to monitior daily activity. No intrest in learning I had the same thing here so we talked over the phone. So I was teaching her all about the phone and watch helping her understand it.She has a cell but not a smart phone. If she had to make a phone call from her cell from the farm. She has to walk to the top of the hill. Many times they lost landline because of trees on the lines. So with my iPhone 6 I gave her it had wifi calling and it was the first iphone that worked with the watch. But she could call from inside the house.
