RE: Ghosting...

Trying to understand people's nature without being judgmental isn't an easy thing...
One needs sensitivity, selflessness and a real compassion to do so...
Ghosting probably works better getting away from people lacking the above...

RE: Ghosting...

@Maya

It is Maya, silence is there to replace words that can hurt you much more than the silence itself...
People have different ways of dealing with separation, but if they have chosen the silence probably there wasn't much of anything serious in the situation anyway...
Sometimes they just believe they hurt you less or hurt themselves less this way...

RE: Demographic Problem

United Kingdom
2010 research found that White Britons (defined as White English, Welsh, Scottish and Irish-born citizens) will be a minority in the UK by 2066 if immigration continued at the current rate. The 50 per cent mark will be passed much quicker among schoolchildren, students and young workers. Foreign-born mothers accounted for a quarter of births in England and Wales. Both Leicester and Birmingham were expected to become "majority minority" during the 2020s. Two London boroughs were already majority non-white in 2001.

The same researcher in 2016 stated that "I made a projection in 2010 the White British population would cease to be the majority in the UK by the late 2060s. However, should current high levels of immigration persist for any length of time, that date would move closer to the present. Britain would then become unrecognisable to its present inhabitants."

The 2011 census found that White British were only 44.9% of the population of London. The group Other White were an additional 14.9%. The absolute number of White British had decreased by 600,000 from the earlier census in 2001, indicating large scale White flight from the capital city.

A 2014 study stated that 14% of the population was non-White. The number was expected to increase to up to a third of the population by 2050. In the 1960s, they were only 5% of the population.

Already in 2005 White Britons were less than 2/3 (64.4%) of newborns in England and Wales. Irish/Other White were an additional 5.1%.

Mixed race persons were in 2014 stated to be the UK's fastest growing minority ethnic group.

In 2016, mothers born outside the UK accounted for 28.2 per cent of live births in England and Wales.

The name "Muhammad" has, with slight spelling variations, been the most popular baby name in England and Wales every year since 2011. Birmingham is predicted to become minority White British by the end of the decade.

RE: Elderly New Jersey woman on oxygen dies after power company cuts electric

What if a natural disaster cut off the electricity?
When someone in your family is on an oxygen mask, powered by electricity you have to be prepared to act in a situation like that...
I had one of those medical oxygen suitcases for people with breathing problems...they are not expensive and can save lives...
Just saying...
A person with such condition should not have been left to live alone...first of all...

RE: Reasons Why? More Mens Compare To Woman Get Depression?

Maybe cause women are better than men in driving someone into a state of depression...

dunno

RE: Boys and girls......Does the apple ever fall too far from the tree?

Blood doesn't turn to water they say...
Exception exist, when you remove the person from the original habitat...
But the person can easily slip into presumed state if close to something that reminds them of their origin...

RE: what would you rather do?

"Otherwise do what? Go to a movie by yourself? Go to a restaurant by yourself? Go to a cooking class that does not exist in your area by yourself? Go hiking by yourself? Go traveling by yourself?"

I've done all that by myself, except the cooking class as I don't need one...

Bars are not for me, never had a thing for this places...
Casino...hmmmm...I might be tempted but nothing more than a bit of fun...
Party...no, noises are hurting my ears, I'd prefer a long, meaningless conversation somewhere quieter...
Dancing...ah, dancing, under the Moon light, with someone dear...yes...

I joined a friend for a drive this morning, no specific direction, fields of lavender, followed by fields of sunflowers, fluffy little clouds in the sky...makes you feel alive and kicking...
How much more do you need to feel good?!
A lot more, that's the truth...

RE: For those that remember me

I do remember you... wave
Best wishes to you both, long and happy life together!
Glad to see it worked for you guys...

Who's next?! laugh

RE: Women and men.....

The demands are overwhelmingly unattractive...
Projecting your fears or insecurities on people before you even met them is an instant turn off...
That's for women (mostly)...
Nothing special guy looking for nothing special girl...yes, every woman will be happy to be your Plain Jane...

RE: DNA

I don't know Len, that will be too overwhelming for someone like me...
But I know a woman (she was a child when she entered our family) who traced her mother down and it was a massive disappointment, not only turned her life upside down but she suddenly adopted all her mother's bad habits and now she is a total wreck...
I wish you best of luck tho, it hides risks and hope all is fine at the end...
