RE: "EDMUND FITZGERALD"

PS I love that Gordon Lightfoot song to this day.

RE: "EDMUND FITZGERALD"

There is a (now controversial) tradition of leaving the remains of those who die at sea in a ship that sinks wherever they lie and leaving the ships intact as a monument.

Possibly the most famous example is the US military (mostly Navy) personnel who died in Pearl Harbor. Many have argued that the ships are the monuments to their death and that they should be left to rest in peace.

Just in the last few years, that view has been changed and after 75 years some of the bodies were exhumed and given burials on land.

This was of particular interest to me as my father was a US Navy officer during WWII and one of the places he served was in Pearl Harbor.

RE: Possibly visiting the New York next year!

Okay... Troy is in "upstate" New York, but not the nicest part. Nevertheless, you will get to see a little bit of another part of New York on your drive there. I hope you will be able to eat at one of these pizza places during your few hours in NYC. If you truly love pizza it's something you won't forget. Unfortunately a few hours isn't nearly enough to explore all the great places in the city, but hopefully it will give you a chance to get the flavor of it at least.

RE: Possibly visiting the New York next year!

Oh and one more tip. A little known secret about New York is that the state consists of a lot more than just New York City.

In fact, just a short drive from the city gets you to some of the best ocean beaches in the world on Long Island or some of the biggest and most beautiful wilderness areas in the United States in the Catskill and Adirondack mountains in upstate New York. In fact, astonishingly, I believe the Adirondack area might be THE largest wilderness area in the United States... an astonishing fact for a state that also contains the largest city in America. There is reason so many people live in the state of New York. It has it all. New York City is just a few percent of the land area of New York.

So if you have time, I highly recommend exploring other parts of the state of New York and New England. There is so much that is unique and special there besides just New York City.

RE: Possibly visiting the New York next year!

You definitely want to come to New York. It is without a doubt the greatest city in the world.

Unfortunately a few years ago a communist mayor was elected and he's doing everything he can to make the city worse. You'll find a lot more homeless people and panhandlers on the streets then you did several years ago, and the streets not quite as clean as they were, the result of his socialist policies, but it will take more than just one crummy mayor to destroy the greatest city in history. He will be history, but New York will live forever.

And yes you will definitely find the best pizza in the world in New York City. But make sure you go to the right place to get it. Don't go to a Pizza Hut or Domino's!

Depending on what part of the city you are staying in you might have to take a Subway or some other transportation to get to these places. But here are my three recommendations if you want to have the best pizza you've ever eaten.

If you're in it for the pizza and not the decor, then Di Fara on Avenue J in Brooklyn is the undisputed world champion of Pizza. It's a nondescript spartan storefront that looks like nothing special. But the pizza is something you can only dream of. It's traditional New York Pizza at its very best. Be prepared to wait on line especially if it's a weekend... Sometimes the line is very long. This is one of the most popular pizza places in New York. Once you eat there you will really understand the New York experience.

Next is Lombardi's on Spring Street in lower Manhattan. Best thin crust Neapolitan pizza in the world hands down. It's also the oldest pizzeria in the United States.

And finally, if you're looking for something more contemporary, there's Kesté on Bleecker Street in Manhattan. This is a newer place that does more contemporary pizzas that are incredibly good. It's very tiny but comfortable.

I'd recommend trying all three. You won't regret it.

There's one more super special pizza place that only local New Yorkers know about ... It's top secret so I can't tell you where that one is. You have to be a member in good standing in the local New Yorker club to have access to it. Maybe someday for you… it's the equivalent of Pizza heaven.

If you can come over the July 4th holiday, the city will be very crowded, but you will also have an opportunity to see fireworks. I'd say it depends on what you like. If you want it less crowded come in May or June. If you like the crowds come during the holiday. Whatever time you come, there will be many people there from every part of the planet. New York is the cultural melting pot of the world. There is no place else like it.

it may take some time to get used to New York City. It's probably unlike anything you've ever experienced. But once you get bitten by the New York City bug, you will never want to leave. There is something magical and special about this place that cannot be duplicated.

RE: Joe Biden claims he will cure cancer if elected

He's a little late. President Trump already cured cancer and the Democrats accused him of putting doctors out of work.

Precisely right. The rank and file Democrats fell for the Russians plan like lemmings and did the bidding for them. The KGB couldn't have matched the success of the Democrat Party in sewing chaos in the American political system.

Simple. The United States is the only hope for annihilating the cancer of socialism on the planet. If there's no United States, there's no Spain. And if President Trump doesn't win the 2020 election, and the socialists do, you can kiss your country goodbye.

RE: Which country has the most awesome military?

And remember that the only time nuclear weapons have been used in combat was by the USA against two japanese cities in 1945

Yes, and thank God we did.

It's estimated that the decision by US President Harry S. Truman to use atomic weapons to end the Japanese aggression and attempted world domination saved at least net 1.5 million lives as when they were used, it wasn't clear whether or not Japan was going to be defeated and even if it could be defeated it is estimated it would have taken years more and resulted in the loss of millions of more lives (both American, Japanese and others) if the Japanese mainland had to be invaded instead.

RE: Which country has the most awesome military?

Most Chinese go to the USA for education because its cheaper than Canada or Aus for example,

I see. So then not only does the United States have the best universities in the world, but it delivers them at the lowest cost to it's students.

All Hail Capitalism!

RE: Which country has the most awesome military?

So tell me why China, with the largest population of any country in the world needs to send their kids to other countries to get a decent education?

RE: Which country has the most awesome military?

I went to one of the best colleges in the United States. Even years ago when I attended, there was a gigantic Chinese student body there. All of the wealthy and well connected families in China sent (and still do send) their children to be educated in the United States.

RE: Which country has the most awesome military?

How about 6 of the top 10 universities in the world in the United States.

And by the way, I notice not one of them is in China.

RE: Which country has the most awesome military?

Meanwhile, homeless people roam the streets of the US cities, and schools are falling apart.

And by the way the United States has the best college and university system in the world. Top students from all over the world compete with each other to get into our schools.

I already dealt with the so-called homeless people phony issue.

America Sends 130,000 Tons Of US Diplomacy To The Middle East

You mean 130.000 tons of death and destruction?

Yes.

It's amazing what that prospect does to make diplomacy successful and avoid military conflict.

Peace through strength. It's a gift to the world from the American people.

Lets hope they don´t encounter anyone in a dinghy, as we all know from previous experience that you only need a little dinghy to take those battleships out of action

Wouldn't count on that happening this time around unless the people in the dinghy like the thought of being reduced to atom sized particles.

= BREAKING = Smoking Gun Memo Surfaces Proving Obama Admin. KNEW Trump Collusion Charges Were Fake

Furthermore, in the FBI's filing to get the warrant, they cited media sources as "corroberating" evidence that Steele's story was true.

But the so-called media sources were FAKE NEWS that was planted by Steele himself through leaks he made to the media. They were NOT independent investigations that came to the same conclusions that Steele did. They were not corroberating evidence. It all came from the same corrupt source, the fake Steele dossier.

= BREAKING = Smoking Gun Memo Surfaces Proving Obama Admin. KNEW Trump Collusion Charges Were Fake

It sounds like she was the one who provided the information from Steele to the FBI, not that she had misgivings about the information. Where exactly are these supposed negative notes ?

Baloney.

It took Kavalec about 10 minutes to figure out that Steele was a fraud and selling BS. And she said so loud and clear 10 days before the Obama FBI submitted his fraudulent dossier to a court to convince them to let them spy on the Trump campaign.

Not only that, but we now know that the FBI KNEW it was a fraud at least AFTER it was submitted and STILL didn't inform the court as they are supposed to.

This is corruption, plain and simple. The Obama administration used the police powers of government, in coordination with the DNC and Hillary Clinton campaign, to hire a spy with Russian connections to get dirt on Donald Trump from the Russians that they could use as a predicate to obtain a warrant to spy on the Trump campaign for political purposes and influence the outcome of a US Presidential election. That is TREASON and they are not going to get away with it.

People in the Obama administration are going to be going to jail. The only question left is how high they can get. Will they get the evidence to convict Clinton and Obama.
