Probably not. Once upon a time there were many more trees and far less people and there was more freshwater than available now. Call me paranoid, I smell a trend.
To my understanding, generally it was the sacrifice of someone else's children. They were not threatened so much as slaughtered. There may be some precedents for an annual tribute of youths to be sacrificed from conquered peoples to the victors.

There different areas of the brain are activated by subtle stimuli, some of which are personally distinctive to individuals, smell, sound and cadence of the voice for example.
Oh and I have to say that there has to be more than one kind of long term relationship. I am polyamorous, so I would have to say so.
