There's not really an answer anyone here could give to the question you pose. So instead I will offer the suggestion that you should adopt a strategy. Either go for the very young (and - just for the avoidance of doubt - Im certainly not advocating anything below the age of consent), who have not yet been spoiled by consumerism. Or go for the very old who have been through it and become disillusioned by it.

Why dont you try telling that to the people who lose their child to cancer or other illness, to the 18,000 children who starve to death in Africa every day, to all the victims of persecution everywhere. Yes, its a real "shock" when someone has to leave each week, isn't it !?? Doh !!
Is that how you spell her name ? Sorry, but I thought she was mentally unhinged, always rolling around on the floor and looking like a kicked puppy at every word of criticism. Her appearance was also awful, thats why they changed her hairstyle. Her one good week (last week) was with new hair, short dress and singing an up tempo song.

Well one question then Moonie. How is a "true man" supposed to find that person without a little testing ? I mean seems you are reading from a book, rather than speaking from experience ? You know, when you go to buy a car you dont just take the first one you see and say "that will do" and buy it, do you ? You take some out for test drives first to see which one suits you best. Otherwise you risk ending up with one which looks OK but doesnt really suit you at all.

Forget about counselling, you dont need some well meaning but drippy counsellor, who probably isn't even married, trying to assist.
Secure all assets and transfer surplus cash to a secret account ! Visit a casino for a couple of nights and lose a little, this provides evidence of lost cash if required later on. Get a decent lawyer. In 10 years time when the emotions have all gone the assets will remain.
Sorry, but thats the real world......your funeral if you prefer the 'soft' counselling approach.

When you say "it takes lots and lots of trust....", trust about what ? About whether or not he is still "talking" to other people !??
Surely if you meet someone on a website and it gets at all "serious", one thing to do is both leave the website ! Another thing to do is to arrange to meet in person, or you just happy with a cyber friend for life ?
Finally, you say "there is still a possibility of not ending up together". A possibility !? Well without all the normal face to face things I would have said a very real probability of "not ending up together".
