I understand what you are saying...unfortunately we have become a society that seems to base how a person looks, their bank account and status within a community on we would treat that person.
I posted the pic of me as my primary because that is I look, day in and day out. I usually wear jeans and tees, no makeup and my hair is wild. I don't mind it and those that know me, are used to it. If I feel like dressing up I will, my choice.
I taught my kids to base their judgment(s) of a person based on their character not on their looks. Character stands the test of time but beauty can fade ever so quickly.
My oldest son and my oldest son-in-law both have long hair...I used to braid their hair for them so that it would not interfere with their work. It looked way cool. My son-in-laws both have mustaches and beards that look great on them. Neither of my daughters like a 'clean-shaven look.' I could go either way...
