Once I again I freely admit that I have NOT been good nor anywhere close to being good. I might have been in the vicinity when someone was being good or thinking good thoughts but I cannot be absolutely sure.
Although I have not been good I would still like just a couple things this year for Christmas. They aren't big things or even medium-sized but I think that you could include them in your bag. (By the way~how much do you pay the elves or is it a room and board thing?)
All I really want is a book (The Pillars of the Earth), a big dark chocolate bar and at least $1,000 (USD). It can all fit into the stocking that I will hang at the fireplace (I did check all dimensions to ensure that everything would fit).
I can't promise that I will be good next year or the year after but I might just try to upgrade to at least one acquaintance who is good and say "hi" to them at least once every three months.
Thank you and hope to see that stocking filled come Christmas morning or I will organize an elf-strike!
I spend the better part of 24 hrs wandering around in my jammies...that's low maintenance right there! I fear one of these I will wind up on the Weirdos at Walmart photos...out in public in my Mickey jammies, house slippers and jacket! Sometimes I go all out and brush my hair but that is so rare!
Because at the time, they were NOT the wrong man/woman. People change and evolve and if both partners can't do it equally and accept it, then the relationship ends.
Most of the SA's worldwide are expected to provide for their own units...if you have not worked in one, you will not know how hard it is to maintain quality employees, buy a ream of paper or pay the rent for the building being used.
And I agree with you VE...I worked more than seven years with SA in Alaska and we were lucky to be able to afford to hire nurses or detox techs...much less keep the facility open 24/7.
Having worked for SA in Alaska; I used to do the bell-ringing with my son. We had a blast doing it and always brought in a lot of change.
Unlike most charities, SA actually does use the money it gets from the kettles and other donations directly to the intended. Each local SA branch is expected to use those donations for what it is intended for.
Although most think that non-profits rake in a lot of money, working for a non-profit is quite different.
RE: Say something about something, or anything. :)
