Can one be cautiously optimistic that things will look up or should one just take a look at present indicators and hope that they don't get worse even with the "Leading Indicators?"
And I know many churches, in every big city in the U.S. do charitable work. Even the gov't. recognizes churches contribute/are a part of many community services, and doesn't tax church income. I would expect many who were displaced by Hurricane Katrina, would have a lot of good to say about many Christian churches.
I recognize that most churches contribute and perform many community services (I worked for Salvation Army for many years); however; I feel that churches should pay taxes on the income that they receive and also property taxes on the building(s) that they hold.
Although I am sure that many would disagree with me; I feel if a religious organization is part of a community it should pay taxes in that community; as the organization depends on many of the same services that other business and private property owners use, such as fire, police and city hall. JMO.
I'm a little late in replying to this, since I do have other things to do. That being said, Dude, I am sorry, I tried to make sense of what you wrote but all I could get from it was that all Republicans were evil and Democrats were good.
I must say that if I read that wrong, I apologize but it does seems as if you believe that all Republicans are responsible for the "woes" that America is suffering right now. Let's take the blame away from both parties at the moment and take a look at those who DO NOT VOTE. Would it not be prudent to say that those who DID NOT EXERCISE their right to vote could be part of problem?
If forgetting meant that I might be likely to repeat the action, then no, I would not want to forget. Our experiences, good or bad, regretful or not, shape who we are. I prefer to remember all that I have done.
Democrats and Republicans share equal blame for the "mess" that we now experience. You cannot label one party (Republican) "bad" and another party (Democrat) "good." Each side shares equal blame as do the voters and non-voters of this country.
To try to say that one political party is better than the other is childish and seems to be saying to others who read the forums/posts that unless they agree that all Republicans are to blame for America's woes then they cannot play in your sandbox.
