Don't think about this when you go to meet now. Keep it out of your mind. Yep! The stories were around a long time before the Sumerians. They were around from Adam and Eve on down (as they happened) and the Sumerians and all other peoples were their offspring. So the stories were passed to all thru word of mouth. The Sumerians wrote it down (Good), then Moses wrote it down (great). But that does not make the Bible fake.
Lets make it simple for you!
If I have two children. I fall down. My children tell their children and so on. Now my great great great grandson wrote down that I fell. Then my great great great great grand daughter (from my other son) writes it down that I fell. Because she wrote it down later does not make it a lie or that she copied it from my grandson and that makes it a fairy tail.
The Bible plainly states that your sins have seperated you from him. If you choose to sin then your father is another and not God. If you choose the way....then your a child by faith and you are heard. Did not Christ not say to the Temple leaders....you are of your father the Devil, he was a murderer from the beginning. Their father was not God, because they had made another their father.
Whom you obey is your God (and your father). If you obeyed a false God by false teachings of man. Then you have a false father that cannot hear anything ever.
If there is no mutual understanding of the condition of the relationship then all is open. If one makes a commitment on any level, then to break the trust of the understanding is to cheat. Often one feels that a condition exist that does not in the other...but this is not the fault of the other and no cheating is done. But out of kindness one must define the relationship clearly and often to prevent a hurt in the the other. This is only fair and decent.
If you are fine with your beliefs....thats good! If we are right or wrong....God is fair all that want him shall have, each in our own way as he declares.
