The Vista operating system Acer purchased and returned prior to buying this Vista Toshiba, both had Ulead software running the DVD
I purchased both just after Vista came out, the Acer wouldn't load Office and it turned out Gates (at the time he was in bed with China) refused to give Acer (which to best my knowledge is a Taiwanese company) wouldn't give Acer the Microsoft codes

I first brought an Acer however had refused to supply Acer with some code at the time (he was in bed with China) got full refund when i took the Acer back, and purchased a Toshiba Satellite a long time ago now and have been very happy with it. Wasn't a cheap one at the time paid AU$1800, have upgraded the RAM and had to replace the DVD drive which was run by crappy third part software which I've since disabled. Core 2 Duo intel processor, which does everything i need.
My old computer had AMD processor in it and it still runs perfectly. There are number of free software programs you can edit video files with out there good luck
