If the fireplace is positioned facing west, place a screen mesh in front of the hearth in winter or a decorated firescreen in summer, as the energy from the west is thought to be quite disruptive. Corner fireplaces create the best flow of chi in a living room, as the chi is directed past any corners.

That's true...we all have our faults, and I certainly have my share. That's where compatibility comes into play...can you live with each other's faults, as well as everything else. More divorces have happened over stupid things like the cap on the toothpaste than you'd believe.

Thank you. That was very sweet of you. I've had it once, but it was too short after all the time it took to find each other. I know why it all happened now, but still...I hope I can find it again, and have it for longer. I'm not trying to be greedy...just hoping I've earned that happiness twice.

You're young, so you have more time, but I hope it doesn't take too much time. I truly hope you find yours. I know she's got to be out there. I just hope she's smart enough to appreciate you.

I know the feeling. My female loves to perch on the back of my sofa. It's getting permanently pushed down back there from it, but I don't care. I have a friend who says that I shouldn't let the dogs on my furniture. I told him it's not his house, and not his furniture...and I'll let my dogs do what I want to let them do. They're not allowed on the beds, but all living room furniture was bought to withstand them, and they live here too.

Shoot...my house is so dog proof that a two yr old can't hurt anything. That was the idea when I got all of it.

But yes...they definitely own me...to a point. I'm still the alpha bit*h around here.

My dogs run and play, or lie at my feet most of the time...but then they'll come up and bump my arm to get me to pet them from time to time. Gotta love them...esp when they make me post a reply when I wanted to add emoticons!

"I Want You To Want Me" by Cheap Trick takes me back to a certain week in July, 1979...and my first true love.

"Urgent" by Foreigner takes me back to Monterey, CA in 1981-82, and a wonderful fire/ice relationship that lasted on and off for a long time.

Molasses, vanilla, and ginger take me back to Mom's kitchen.

None take me to a particular moment, like I'm there again, but they take me to the memories.
