RE: Self driving cars .

id have to agree with you to a degree. id be worried about the livelihoods of professional drivers

RE: Self driving cars .

hahaha ah look into the technology, it really is impressive. i think it should be available to all right now, as it would probably save many lives. it doesnt necessarily have be in total self driving cars.

RE: Depression

apologies molly but that wasnt directed at you at all, just supporting your previous statements

RE: Self driving cars .

some of this technology is actually very impressive. theyre finding in certain situations, the automated systems are reacting quicker than humans. radar technology is extremely impressive right now but im not sure im ready for self driving vehicles just yet

RE: Self driving cars .

quiet well id imagine. possibly even better than a human

RE: Depression

thumbs up

...and heres another, 'extremely important' thread veering off topic!

RE: Self driving cars .

interesting subject matter, but i think it ll be a long time before self driving vehicles will become the norm, mainly due to ethical, political, economical, etc etc etc reasons. it will be hard to fully convince the public that this is a better way of dealing with our transport issues. professional drivers will certainly have issues with it! i have been informed though that commercial planes mainly fly themselves.

RE: psychosis

very very little but im willing to learn

RE: Brexit - How will you vote in the referendum?

i wont be voting as im irish but i really do think all other countries should butt out of this vote. the people of England will vote what they want and its nobody elses business after that. we all should respect what the people of england want.

RE: Depression

i hope sinead o'connor is found safe and well. dreadfully situation for her family and friends

RE: Depression

RE: Depression

recently discovered alternative radio talk show host gary null. his show goes out on prn.fm. regularly talks about mental health problems, potential causes and possible treatments. even though hes a little odd, i must say hes a very interesting guy and is very well educated in such matters. always has very interesting people on the show talking about mental health issues. may help some around here and educate us all

RE: Videos

errr emm why?

RE: Sad Or Not.

each to their own. who are we to judge, but in saying all that, i do find it sad when i see people struggle with addiction problems, and to watch our government make a mess of dealing with it

RE: Who would be best fit as VP?

thumbs up

RE: Germany suffers as a result of Merkel's decision Part 2

na, not convinced at all. the 'terrify campaign' is in full swing and i suspect will be successful in the end

RE: Did you want to pay a bill to Irish Water

you can forget about that ever happening. i think neoliberalism is actually one of the main if not the main reason for what i call social fracturing. i think our societies are becoming fragmented leading us to think and behave in a selfish and self centered way. i largely blame our financial and economic systems for this behaviour rather than the individuals within these systems. we need to start supporting each other in any way possible.

the luas strike is a very interesting one to watch. you can see the serious backlash from the public regarding the strikes, i.e. theres little support for people regarding these issues, i.e. forget about your boycott movement, it wont happen. people are terrified to stand up at this stage, and understandable so. this is another tool used by the neoliberalist movement. we are now, as michael hudson puts it, under the control of 'debt peonage'!

i think the eu will eventually crash in a blaze of glory because of these issues amongst other things. will probably take a long time though, and god only knows what state our country will be in by then.

RE: Did you want to pay a bill to Irish Water

my uncle, a proud republican, is disgusted with all this as am i. id say our revolutionary predecessors would be disgusted with how we re being treated. this is all very disturbing to watch unfold, and nobody really knows what to do about it. we re now in a situation, damned if you do, damned if you dont.

im not sure what to make of china but i think theyre getting caught up in the same crappy systems, so id say we ll all eventually sink like a stone, and probably in a bloody mess to, literally. but in saying that, it looks like china is getting into bed with russia, and i think we re on the wrong team!

RE: Did you want to pay a bill to Irish Water

be aware, we are not under democratic control. some of the largest financial institutions are actually running the show. the main culprits would be the imf and the world bank. i personally think our politicians are actually terrified of these institutions and bow to their every demand. its been deeply disturbing to watch our politicians bully the citizens of this country into paying for these new taxes. our democratic systems are in serious trouble.

RE: Did you want to pay a bill to Irish Water

complicated question. rightfully so, we all should be paying for water per usage but after studying environmental issues for sometime, i have come to realise our current environmental policies and directives have been hijacked by the global neoliberalist movement and are no longer just about improving our global environment but are in fact about forcing privatisation of our public assets and services, in this case our water services. i also feel, as michael hudson puts it, there is a massive movement of moving taxation from the wealthiest individuals and corporations, onto the general labour force. i believe this is true with the creation of irish water. basically, its a scam, and a very serious one at that. iw is a bloody mess. im actually very proud that the people of ireland stood up and said no more. enough is enough. sadly this will probably have negative effects on our environment while we sort this out, but the labour force cannot continue to be taxed more and more while massive wealth is accumulating at the higher tiers of our social and financial systems, mainly in tax havens.

RE: what is Ireland known for..?

RE: damaged

every human being is damaged in some way. i like the way an american physiologist puts it(cant remember his name), all human beings have personality dysfunctions, some just happen to have some very complex ones.
