Certainly we can exist without nato which formed here in 1949 along with the Washington treaty for fear that the Russians would roll tanks into western Europe. that fear was a major part of the cold war.
And we could have a better lifestyle here aw well without being a member of nato, along with a better infrastructure which we do no have due to the disproportionately higher amount we pay, than other countries do, to protect so called allies. I think those usa monies are not spent on nato efforts too.
NATO's fundamental goal is to safeguard the Allies' freedom and security by political and military means (and not offend other non nato nations.)
The only time, i believe, a limited number of nato troops was there for the usa was in a war without an exit plan after September 11, 2001 attacks on the US in Afghanistan. The incredibly insane cost was born by the usa.
Laying down sanctions is fine with me. I just don't want to see the bear poked physically. I would like to see our Monroe Doctrine enforced and the usa just stay out of Europe's affairs.
I hope America doesn't get more involved than relief and tale in refugees. The cold war is over and all nuclear hell will break loose if the usa pokes the bear.
Do you realize that Russia is probably the largest export of fossil fuels like crude oil, coal and maybe natural gas too? Russia is fueling three big ones...Europe, china and usa. The nato should not be threatening Russia in my humble opinion. Putin should not be in Ukraine and the mercenary Nato is responsible for this mess. I winder if Yankovich won't be back in Ukraine.
i would prefer to hear testimony that is damaging and conclusive from a reputable unbiased witness of good character, not anyones written report. The weight of valid evidence should still determine the guilt in any and all cases.
Serbia, china, india, mexico, israel, united emirate emirates, among other countries, have abstained from voting in a United Nations Security Council effort to condemn the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Anyone know why these countries aren't condemning Russia?
