There one lady i work with who has bi polar. And is mostly in a depressive state. I am about the only person she will speak to at length. When her mood slightly lifts its like the sun comes out when i see her smile. She often makes me feel like crying because even when she low she says to me "your my friend and your so good to me". Once she said "you make me smile inside". She is so lovely but so sad.

nah if some one upsets me i will tell them. Mind you that sometimes embrasses some people but what the heck i'm not going to carry round it with me and have some say i didn't know

And some times like one of my clients remain in a depressive state for month. there are many different plato's to this illness the extreems are deep depression and euphoria

Also depression can hit anyone at any time so you could already be in a relationship when someone suffers from it. In that case i would be there for them as i have been with many of my friends. I have been lucky so far not to be affected by depression thank my stars.

A friend who suffered with bi polar (manic depression) bumped into me and a friend when out shopping. She asked how we were friend said i'm depressed, The friend with bi polar said no Angala love your not depressed you just fed up if your were really depressed you would know it. This has stuck with me all my life and now i work in mental health i know what she means

As i work with people who suffer depression i would find it hard to deal with in a relationship, I know this sounds hard but there is only so much one person can give

You behaved as a friend and he has abused your friendship. If i were you i would have nothing else to do with the jerk. Being drunk is no excuse. You made it prefectly clear you had no interest in him that way. What gave him the right to think otherwise when you only offered him your couch. Men like him make me so mad . If one of my male friend behaved like this i would never speak to them again .
