No hun a correct view in my mind. Thankfully the one thing in my favour when I was laid off is that I owe nobody a cent. If I dont have the cash for something then I cant afford it, simple as that.
Am not very politacally minded so tend to stay out of threads that discuss it. However I did find myself unemployed recently for the first time ever.
I worked for a Property develoment, 12 months ago we were discussing increasing my hours and suddenly in Octtober I came back from holiday to be told 'sorry no work for you'.
As the sole breadwinner with 3 teenagers I was devestated. I immediatly started trawling the net and meeting with agencies each one telling me, sorry not a lot out there.
Thankfully I managed to get a few days here and there temping but finally had to give in and sign on the week before Christmas.
I have been fortunate enough to start a job last week. The man on the door in the dole office nearly passed out when I asked where did I go to sign off...Was the only hatch with no queue.
In theory yes, forums are set up to discuss specific topics. I think perhaps that we here on the ie forums have taken it upon ourselves to turn them into a social thing. I do mostly enjoy the banter as a result of this but can see that it is frustrationg if someone posts something that they wish to discuss seriously and the thread is hijacked. Perhaps we just need to all consider this matter when we are posting.
In the beginning of any relationship we all show our best sides, it takes time to get to know all sides of someone.
The expression 'Marry in haste, Repent at your leisure' comes to mind.
Sometimes by the time the bad side appears we are already emotionally involved and keep hoping that the good side will win out. Sadly sometimes this is not the case.
