I totally agree with the implied sentiment in your post. But, to be a bit more specific, in some areas, such as the financial markets and deep water oil drilling, both new regulations, as well as stricter enforcement of existing regulations, are definitely needed. The same with the health care industry. There are other industries where more regulations are not necessary, just the ability and will to enforce existing regulations, as in mountain top removal for coal, as seen in West Virginia.
