RE: Love Hurts!

Also may mean everything seems mirror imaged. Say left and yet they think right. See a d and they think p making it very hard to read and do numbers. Many can overcome this with special instruction.dancing

RE: Little Girl Missing

Yes, we are all praying for Madeleine. I feel bad for her parents but I do also feel that there should be some sort of formal punishment for them leaving tiny children like that alone. I know they are being punished in the most horrible way because she's gone, but they caused that action to happen -- they left those children alone unprotected. It is inexcusable behavior. A fire could have started and all those little ones could have been killed. People who put dinner plans ahead of the care and protection of their kids shouldn't have children. angel Hopefully, some unstable (for stealing a child) but kind person who simply wanted one has her and she will be found alive and well. angel

RE: what's it like when both people are in love?

Yes, it does exist and when it happens, you'll know. You will move heaven and earth to be with this person and they'll do the same for you. While you are apart, you will long for each other and when you are together you will feel complete. It is the best feeling in the world so cherish it completely because you never know how long it will last. Cancer took my Lover away, but his love is with me still. [I love you Tom; I always will.]angel angel angel

RE: Do women know how to cook any more?

Not only cook, I can go out back, shoot it, gut it, skin it, cut it up and then cook it!

RE: natural disaster occurs who should be in charge of clean-up...

Well, I think right now it is usually the Governor of the State where the disaster occured but it seems like nowadays it's turned into the blame game. Fema blames Governors and Govenors blame FEMA.

I heard the Govenor of Kansas blaming the War for not having enough equipment. When electrical power goes out from a storm, our electric company workers go to whatever state needs the help with people and equipment to restore everything. Can't the National Guard, FEMA or anyone responding to a disaster do the same? I'm sure there are resources somewhere that could be obtained with a Federally declared Disaster status. We all may feel its not enough, but to me that sounded like a political statement which has no place in the face of a disaster.

YES, I always dance!!! Ballroom or two-step and everything inbetween.

California here I come......

Hey all. I'm coming to California this weekend! Bakersfield, to be more exact. Not sure if I'll have any extra time to even say hello to anyone but who knows. I'm going to visit a friend who now works out there. A visit to LA and sights around there (maybe Disney) might be on the agenda but I'm not sure because all that is a surprise for me.

[Alejandro, I have your number and if time permits, I'll at least call to say hello.]

RE: Commitment Phobia

Yes, I dated a really nice guy. He was divorced (by her choice) and said he was not happy to find himself single now and looking at his age. He shared his future plans of selling his home in a year or so after doing a bunch of repairs and some nice changes to enhance it. It sounded like a one year time-line to find someone. We hit it off great. He's from a close family and goes to family dinners once a week. Does stuff on weekends with brothers and sister. His sister was helping him find a dog but he couldn't make up his mind. He mentioned his sister wanted to meet me and I said fine (natural progression in a budding relationship) but then he disappeared. Said he didn't love me and wanted to be "in love" whole issue was committment just like the dog. We're still friends. I think if we continued I could fall in love with him. I think he's afraid to because he was hurt before. Yep, its a bad situation for the one who wants to go further or at least have a permanent relationship of any sort.

Broadway Chorus Performance

The Windham Theater Guild's final performance of this year's Broadway Chorus is tonight at the Burton Leavitt Theater in Willimantic. It's great music from South Pacific, Anything Goes, Mama Mia and West Side Story. Come on out to a wonderful performance.

RE: Was your name shortened when younger and did you like it

Nancy was usually shortened to Nan or Nanc and still is. Then there was the three years of high school when I played basketball and the kids at camp started calling me Wilt. Now that I think back there was also that horrible play a co-student wrote and I was called "BeanPole" for a while.

RE: Was your name shortened when younger and did you like it

Oh, sorry! We called my son BJ for short until he went to school and the kids started teasing him. Then he proclaimed to be called Vic which was his real name. dancing

RE: Raise your hand if you have actually met someone online

Yes, I've met some people from CS and some other sites. Some very nice great people, we just became friends instead of falling in love, but that doesn't mean I stopped trying. I have another I'm ready to meet soon. Who knows? Never give up because you never know if your true love is just around the corner.

I hated to but with no man around, I had to check the oil in my car today, added a quart and added windshield washer fluid too. The things we girls have to do......blues

RE: smoking is dangerous sos pollution

I'll take you up on that camping trip and I'm a non-smoker too! Bet I could give you a run for your money--been camping and hunting and running the farm for way too long to lose that kind of bet! Bet you couldn't stop smoking during it too!dancing

RE: Who else likes sophistication?

Do you mean that its okay cause sometimes when I'm running round the house in my powder blue long johns after a day of hunting and then putting on my "sophistication" by changing to go out in an evening gown for a night of dancing?dancing

RE: I sent myself a flower today

Okay, on my way down this thread, I sent an occasional flower just to brighten up the day of a few of my fellow CS Members. Its more fun than sending them to myself. Feels good - try it!dancing

RE: starting from scratch...again

Welcome back. Yep, I'm still here, but hoping the next prospective date will be the one to last a lifetime.dancing

RE: gardens

I check fluids only if I have to. I can make my own butter too which is how I got my screen name of TheButterLady. I make a lot of grape jelly and apple butter. I can even go out back on the farm and get my own venison (although that scares some guys--not sure why)!dancing
