As for; "housing, renting, childcare, the working poor and the oft forgotten western transport infrastructure getting real meat on the bones action.... " I agree that they need addressing but unfortunately this thread is not about those.
Does it matter what brought it to light. Its a change that needs to made. Unless of course, we are all ok with these things not being changed. Sorry to hear that Dermot Ahern's ignorance in the basic freedoms of humanity inconvenienced you and brought about a way to put it right.
