Why should we even listen to what people in other countries say about how we handle immigration, legal or otherwise? It will always be the same thing. "Let us in, and pay our way." The only other answer they have is, "Send your money and jobs to us, so we don't have to even pack, to take what you have."
Well, if I have to be a fish, then it would be a sword fish. Just think of the old saying, "Mess with the bull and get the horns" and use your imagination LOL Yeah, I'll stick it to ya'!
All you have to do is read through a few of these threads and you will see a lot of examples of people who thrive on it so much they create it out of nothing. Just "attention seekers" wanting everyone to feel sorry for them. I never will.
I would just always advise getting a person's information before they leave because you just never know. Have a friend who was hurt by someone, but at the time didn't even realize it. They hurt her kid too, so she just hit fully blown "momma bear" (as she calls it) because the guy didn't even slow down enough to ask if the kid was ok. Good thing she did. Next morning she could barely move, and is now being put on SSD because with all the permanent damage that was caused she can't even work any more. At the time, she was too angry to even feel any pain except for one knee, and said she normally would have just walked away thinking it would just "go away". Turned out the knee was the least of her problems.
the Iraqis hung Sadam, not the Americans. And, that was actually tame and orderly by mid-east standards...But yah, I guess us Americans can be a bunch of rotten SOBs.
Yeah, nothing but a lot of crap trying to put this, just like everything else, on the US. Once again, the most beloved scape goat for all idiots. Talk about double standards and bigotry.
yeah Mitchell, I heard about that, but, for all we know it is just another convenient way to twist things to suit their personal agenda. It is my understanding that the majority of the problem between differenct sects of muslims is that they interpret these texts differently.
Saw an article about a nativity sceen being banned as well. STUPID! How can people actually try to defend the right for kids to carry knives to school, but think that something like a decoration or display is going to cause more trouble? Going out to paint a peace sign on the roof, so EVERYBODY can see it hehehehe
Oh my, I can just imagine the reactions to all of that. So many are going to dispute that these things are even true, and then the last paragraph... Yikes! Do you really think they consider the US as the big eagle coming to "cleanse" (clean up their mess)?
I'll admit that I did guess on the matches. Just seemed to make sense that there would be as many matches in a book as there are smokes to a pack. I almost guessed 25 for the ones that get blown out from the wind
"“We have some folks that hang around because they throughly enjoy hurting others feelings in what appears to be an attempt to sate their own feelings of inadequacy.”
I think that IS the biggest problem. No other life, so they want more company for their misery. (I am amazed by how many pages of postings some people have. Hundreds of them. LOL, I just made it to the beginning of page 3 in all the time I have been here. Guess I just don’t make as much time for it as they do.) Some of the posts in this forum are perfect examples. The gavel idea sounds good, especially with various times of “banning” for different offenses. But, do you think that those mods should be allowed to post in forums? I would think that they should only be allowed to monitor for out of line conduct, not to inject their own opinions etc. That would help them to be more unbiased. Or is that already one of the rules?
You made me cry. Thanks for the flash back, and the pride that came with it. With a few changed details, and I was there that day, with my kid on the oppositions team.
“Yes. And so is the US. Just not of the same things. Just take a moment and think about it...” Most of what I see and hear is anger, not fear. But you are a bit too far away to feel the real temperament of the country. Not surprised that people from other countries assume what isn’t true, about people they know nothing about, except what they read in flawed “news” stories. “personally i would like to see iran wipe israel off the map ” I would prefer to see the reverse myself, but not going to argue about it. Mitchell – don’t let belushi bait you, he pops off like that all the time.
Talked to a friend in Washington last night. Told me that she could smell the snow. I laughed at her, and she said, "Fine, don't believe me." It is snowing there right now!
Says she can also smell when it is going to rain. Can you smell the weather, and if so, what does it smell like?
"If the world hates us so much, they can leave us the Hell alone and get by without our help." As if that would ever happen. The US is the first one that is expected to pull anyone and everyone out of every mess. Just think how we would be doing if we didn't keep wasting money on foreign aid to those who hate us so much. Yeah right, you hate us yanks but love those greenbacks.
Well, first off, usually the rule is what a reasonable person would have done in like or similar circumstances. At least as far as I can remember, that is how it is worded. As the captain, he should have been one of those thrown overboard to protect the life of a passenger. They also should have drawn straws or something to decide who went overboard if any. Also wonder if the part about them all dying if he didn't throw someone over is a fact, or just an opinion. Seems that if they had taken turns having some in the water and some in the boat, (we did it as kids) it would have made for a better overall, unless of course part of this is that they are in arctic waters and you would freeze to death as soon as you hit the water.
IrishLass Just to clarify... The inmates are all allowed their various religious practices, but you aren't even allowed to have a bible? IF I read that correctly, may I ask what the reason for that is?
Yes, they do. Schools were started way back when this was basically a "christian nation". Years later her comes Political Correctness, or my preferred definition of PC, pathetic crap. And they didn't just change the name from Christmas break to Winter break, they changed everything that goes along with it. When I was a kid we had the Christmas pageant, the Christmas play, the Christmas parties...all no longer allowed. As far as school being called on holidays for other religions, they just stay home and it is considered an "excused absense".
