RE: What is the national dish/dishes in your country?

Carne Asada sounds like my type of dish! Here in the Southern United States we are infamous for frying food. Cause truly anything tastes better if it's fried in batter! lol. Problem is it's not very healthy for you, but it sure rocks your taste buds.

In Texas and throughout the deep South we're infamous for cooking "Chicken Fried Steak" and it is delicious. You serve it with gobs of white country gravy smothering the top of it. For a side order you have wedge fries and coleslaw. To drink of course you have sweetened ice tea, cause that's what you drink in the South!

Ingredients
2 pounds beef bottom round, trimmed of excess fat
2 teaspoons kosher salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 cup all-purpose flour
3 whole eggs, beaten
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 cups chicken broth
1/2 cup whole milk
1/2 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves

Directions

Preheat oven to 250 degrees F.

Cut the meat with the grain into 1/2-inch thick slices. Season each piece on both sides with the salt and pepper. Place the flour into a pie pan. Place the eggs into a separate pie pan. Dredge the meat on both sides in the flour. Tenderize the meat, using a needling device, until each slice is 1/4-inch thick. Once tenderized, dredge the meat again in the flour, followed by the egg and finally in the flour again. Repeat with all the pieces of meat. Place the meat onto a plate and allow it to sit for 10 to 15 minutes before cooking.

Place enough of the vegetable oil to cover the bottom of a 12-inch slope-sided skillet and set over medium-high heat. Once the oil begins to shimmer, add the meat in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Cook each piece on both sides until golden brown, approximately 4 minutes per side. Remove the steaks to a wire rack set in a half sheet pan and place into the oven. Repeat until all of the meat is browned.

Add the remaining vegetable oil, or at least 1 tablespoon, to the pan. Whisk in 3 tablespoons of the flour left over from the dredging. Add the chicken broth and deglaze the pan. Whisk until the gravy comes to a boil and begins to thicken. Add the milk and thyme and whisk until the gravy coats the back of a spoon, approximately 5 to 10 minutes. Season to taste, with more salt and pepper, if needed. Serve the gravy over the steaks.

Good looks, high intelligence, great personality.

Howdy From Texas!

Hiya in East Texas! Sometimes I go to visit friends in East Texas. Lake Palestine and Tyler mainly.

Cool places in Dallas are plentiful. Yeah I used to always go to Club Clearview, Club Dada and The Art Bar in Deep Ellum way back in the day when it was the hip place to be. Too much X and coke ruined that neighborhood.

Have you tried the West End? It is touristy but still a cool place to get a bite to eat and a drink. Plus they have the large aquarium down there now which is worth a see. While in downtown check out the arts district and the Dallas Museum of Art. There are other theaters, museums, galleries and the symphony complex there.

I personally love Uptown. Try McKinney Avenue and some of the eating establishments and bars central to there. There's also a historical trolley that runs down McKinney free of charge and will take you to the West End. Hitting those two locales in one day makes for a hip excursion.

Turtle Creek adjoins Uptown and is the most beautiful, scenic spot in Dallas and is right on the Katy Trail which is a fun hike if you've got the time and can go early or late enough to beat the heat.

After Uptown take a short few block drive up Lemmon Avenue to Uncle Julios and the best margaritas in Dallas. This is Texas you know so you have to have margaritas in the summertime! Smiles. Uncle Julios is famous for their Sangrias swirl margaritas. They're great on a hot, sunny day.

This is a very limited list of some of the things I like best about Dallas. There's so much more to do and see! Enjoy your trip here. Ken

Howdy From Texas!

Howdy to you down under! I watch a show on HGTV called International House Hunter and seems the couples on there are more times than not relocating to Australia! Awesome place to be!

Howdy From Texas!

Yes. I lived at the Top O' The South. Reminds me alot of Napa Valley out in California here. People don't realize that NZ actually has some pretty good wines. I did love NZ and my experiences there. It's breathtaking!

Howdy From Texas!

Yeah I did mate! lol. Cause with a name like WESTERNSTAR1 and no picture up I didn't know if you were friend or foe, male or female! Now I know you need a haircut though. Haha!handshake beer

RE: date nights

Me and a few of my exes had fantasy nights in which we planned and lived out our fantasies. Alternating between one to the other for who got to pick the theme and scenarios. It's alot of fun and keeps things exciting!

Howdy From Texas!

Chain saws? Are you in need of a haircut? lol.

RE: SHOW..UP

Well it sounds like it's time to stop being a wallflower and start initiating conversation with others so you get to know some people and make some friends. Good luck!

Howdy From Texas!

Hello to you in my old homeland down under, down under. Smiles. Things are well here in Texas. Best wishes to you and yours in that beautiful paradise of a nation you dwell in.

RE: Am I wrong?

I think it's a wise move to only concentrate your time, energy and resources on one person at a time so you can give them your undivided attention and not spread yourself thin. But only do this once you are sure you are into each other enough to take this major step. Don't jump the gun!

RE: If a guy/girl is over 28 and still lives with their parents would that put you off dating them?

It really would depend on the particular set of circumstances. I mean, I met one lady that was in her late 30s who lived full time with her elderly mother that was diseased so she could be her primary caregiver. I surely didn't judge her for "living at home" in this instance and I'm sure there are other sets of circumstances that would prove to be the exception to the rule.

RE: What's the most loving thing you've ever done?

Walk away from a woman I fell in love with cause she wouldn't leave her husband after many promises to do so. Then she divorced finally and came back and by then I was already taken. So I just walked away forever never to look back. Still miss her at times.

Howdy From Texas!

I prefer trouble to come looking for me I think its all about the leather and rawhides :whip:[/quote

Trouble will find you with a quickness in the wrong bar at the wrong time in Texas! lol. But most of the honky tonks around the metroplex are kitsch and tame in comparison to the real deal.

You prefer leather and rawhides, haha, you're looking to the wrong state and city then. I think what you're mentioning would be more abundant in the Tenderloin district in San Fran! lol.

RE: Who viewed u last?

A looky-loo from Indonesia.

RE: cyberlove

Tried it a few times with wonderful results. Cyberlove easily seeps over into day to day, reality love. You just have to take the next step and give wings to your online romance and make it happen in the material world. Cyberlove easily becomes reality if you let it.

RE: you can't turn back the clock.........

The past is dead and stinking! Best to let sleeping dogs lie. The cliches go on which aptly describe turning back the clock. Living in the here and now is where it's at. Having a fondness for the past and romanticizing it as ideallic while endlessly reminiscing about it is akin to forfeiting your present and future! Besides, if you did have the capability to turn back the clock I think you would find it's just the same as the present day and age. There are good times mixed in with daily struggles and hardships. It's called the life experience and you get plenty of that right her today. Don't look back!

RE: 70% per cent of women in a poll stated they would not date a man who was unemployed.

I mean this is a cuththroat world we inhabit. Of course with the economy soured most would not consider dating someone who is unemployed. That's like taking on extra burden and dead weight. You do have a choice in who you fraternize with and thus will have a possible relationship with. It only makes sense to pick wisely from a pool of suitable suitors when your first priority in choosing a possible mate is that they are gainfully employeed. This is only following a course of common sense.

Now if you just so happen to fall in love with someone that is unemployed then by all means you should stick by them through thick or thin. However, if from the get go you weed out those that are jobless you'll have much more success and joy in your life. But some people seem to thrive on hardship and enjoy being downtrodden. I can't understand why but there's a certain demographic that seems to enjoy it.

RE: How many Near death accidents you have been through ...

I was clinically dead for 3 minutes when I was 15 after being involved in a car accident in which two others died. I was trapped in the car for 35 minutes and broke 17 bones in the process. I actually saw the light you hear so much about and I was in the process of going up through the lit tunnel when I was pulled back into my body. It left a lasting impression on me and I was surrounded by such peace and happiness when I entered the light that I no longer fear death but look at it as something beneficial. I firmly know that God is a reality now.

RE: Whats going to happen on 12/21/2012

It'll be the same thing as the much hyped Y2K. The day will come and go with no event or consequence. You can throw the Mayan calendar out with other ill fated prediction devices of the ages.

RE: Ever feel that some times, this site would be paid members only ?

It's a matter of principle with many people who'd refuse hands down to pay for a date site. It's akin to paying for love in a round about way. There's something to be said on the internet for empowering people with sites that give you a voice and don't charge a fee for freedom of speech! Power to the people, not the man! lol

RE: Lana Del Rey

From Gawker.com site,

Lana Del Rey’s Infamous SNL Performance

The perpetually pouty Instagrammed pout monster that is Lana Del Rey appeared on Saturday Night Live this past weekend and it was well, it was this. And this. And also this. Yes, LDR stunk up the joint and the Internet is going nuts over it. Apparently snarly lip curls and sleepy Benadryl eyes don't work in a live context like they do on YouTube.

Relax, Lans, you'll be fine. People forget these things. Remember when Ashlee Simpson got caught lip-syncing her performance back in 2004? Yeah, neither do we

RE: do u feel alone?

I'm lonely at times but never alone.

RE: Broken Hearts

We're each responsible for our own emotional content. However, being human we are frail and susceptible to certain heartaches. A broken heart is the result of one trusting and having that trust betrayed. I think trust from another is a reasonable expectation in any relationship so therefore in answer to your question, no, we are not responsible for a broken heart. It just happens. Part of the human dilemma and experience.

RE: Older Women!

You might have a mommy fixation.

RE: Someone I like , what should I say to her?

You could tell her a million and one things but your actions will speak alot louder than your words if you just ask her out and then paint the town and show her a good time.

RE: Discripe your dream date

Good food, better wine, great conversation, a scenic, ideallic locale are all in the equation for sure. But the best dates are the kind that never end, literally! When I met my ex-wife our first date never ended! We ended up going back and forth to one anohthers' place from that point on till we moved in together and married shortly thereafter. We literally never left the presence of each other until we married. Then it all went downhill from there. lol.

RE: Which is the best and naturally beautiful countr in the world?

I lived on the South Island of New Zealand for 6 years so I'm partial to that locale. I also travel to Kauai, the Northern most Hawaiin Isle, many times each year. I go next month for around 6 to 8 weeks.

I think these are the two most beautiful, scenic and serene places on earth. If I was hard pressed to choose between the two I would have to go with Kauai! And it's in the USA which is a definite plus! It's truly paradise on earth. I guess that's why my parents retired there.

RE: What you will do on this weekend ?

Saturday morning do some yard work. Later head out to White Rock Lake for some hiking, a cookout, frisbee and hacky sack. Come back to my place with some friends and use my pool while having some drinks. Saturday night, go out to dinner with friends and have drinks for a few select people here at my house.

Sunday I devote most of the day to church. My church has fellowship and food after the service and it lasts for hours. Is alot of fun! Sunday night unwind and watch a good movie and some tv.

RE: What do you usually do before go to sleep?

Watch the history channel and talk on the phone, simultaneously. lol
