Twice, nearly drove into 2 horses in the winter time. If I hit them it was lights out for me. The second time was when I was 23 and crashed when drunk, learned a valuable lesson.
several bike and car accidents the last car smash i broke my neck and hip cracked my skull my heart stoped 3 times and i lost my best friend he was the driver... we didnt wear our safty belts on a badly lit winding road at 3 'o'clock in the morning.
Kaybee50: Had blood poisoning in 1991 and a fever of 105 for quite a few days. Was out of it alot of that time, and placed in tub of cold water more than once.
Damn! I would pay to be a fly on the wall in your bathroom that time.
I noticed almost all your polls include a choice called "it's a myth", this makes no sense. If you want more responses to your polls I suggest you make the choices more relevant. Like how many is "a few"? Also why does a near death experience have to involve an accident? How about risking death by doing life threatening things that don't involve an accident like flying a stunt plane and losing an engine but managing to land safely. That qualifies as a near death experience. I risked death every time I buckled myself into a racecar and once I actually got shot at by a cop, missed my head by inches. That certainly was near death but was no accident.

Now when I think of it, Ive had some very close calls, especially driving on the road, other people going through red robots and missing me by inches, nearly having a head on with a truck, ok, one was my own fault, I fell asleep behind the wheel and ended up in the bushes on the other side of the road. I woke up, driving at a speed through these bushes with my foot heavily on the accelarator, as I was sleepy. And countless others, even a nearly been shot at a few times, one in a disco, the bullet wized past me and rebounded into the floor carport inches away from my foot actually. countless, Im surprised Im still alive. I guess, it wasnt my time, and was left on this earth too suffer like hell, which I definitely have.

Now when I think of it, I also remember having a drowning experience, when I was a toddler, coming up and down to the surface, I think my mom eventually pulled me out.
1 as a baby i fell out of the window (4th floor) but mum got hold of one of my leg. 2 Fell off a scaffhold and fell to the ground..luck put a metal bar in the way to break my fall, so i broke my arms, but it saved my life. 3 micro second from driving off a cliff...Misty night, the road turned and we nearly did not.. 4 Fell asleep behind the wheel..woke up to see a big fat moose standing in my way...just missed him by an inch..if he had fallen in through my screen i surely would be dead now 5 got very ill and doctors told me i had 10% chance of survival...."you might want to get the family over to say good bye".....im still here.... 6 really really bad Food poisoning in Marocco....Took 2 month to get back to normal.

Thank you for your comment,as you know all my polls have it ...it's my signature. No ones puts it ,yet still someone ticks it ...
Uhhhhhh... If attempting suicide 3 times counts, then yes. I've had 3. Though they all were pretty wimpy attempts XD Thank Gawd that's all in the past!!
I was clinically dead for 3 minutes when I was 15 after being involved in a car accident in which two others died. I was trapped in the car for 35 minutes and broke 17 bones in the process. I actually saw the light you hear so much about and I was in the process of going up through the lit tunnel when I was pulled back into my body. It left a lasting impression on me and I was surrounded by such peace and happiness when I entered the light that I no longer fear death but look at it as something beneficial. I firmly know that God is a reality now.

Most of mine have been during my time in the US Coast Guard as an EMT/aircrewman on HH52 helicopters. There is a picture in my profile of a helicopter I was in during a search and rescue mission. The mother of a guy I was stationed with took the picture thinking he was the crewman.
One time during a routine flight for flight time, we were close to Harlem when we saw a bunch of flashing blues. When we got close to get a look at what was going on, a black guy with a rifle leaned out of an apartment window and shot at us. We had a light appear on the cockpit dash and when we got back to the air station, I found a bullet hole in one main rotor blade during a post flight inspection. When the blade was removed, we found there was no exit hole and could hear the bullet rattling around inside the main spar.
In some cases where a litter had to be lowered to a sailboat, I had to literally yank the cable out of the persons hand before they could hook it to the railing after disconnecting the litter. In one case I wasn't quick enough. The sailboat was in four foot swells with five to six foot rogues and the person on the boat connected the cable to the railing just as the sailboat was at the top of a six foot swell. Above my head was a button that when pushed would actuate a v knife for cutting the cable. I was a split second faster than the pilot and they had to send another helicopter out.
One time we had a call about a boat on fire. I was lowered down to it by the co-pilot to do a search for anyone on board. I found one guy down below and had to drag him out on deck to be hoisted up into the helicopter. During the whole time I could feel the deck getting hot through my boots. I got the horse collar around me and just as I connected the d-ring to the hook, the deck let loose making me drop three feet. Luckily I was in full flight gear with the visor of my helmet down. I automatically looked down allowing the visor to block the flames from getting to my face. The pilot was watching and just as I dropped, pulled up on the collective dragging me out. The worst I got were skinned legs by the edge of the hole. I had quite a few drinks that night at the enlisted men's club.
Another time, during a lightning storm around Manhatten a private helicopter was struck by lightning and went down in the west river. We had to fly in that and it was no picnic with all that lightning flashing around.
Also, I have lost count of the times while on a motorcycle due to some idiot not looking first.
After many years on different bikes, only real injuries were caused by car owners and one by a tractor. However only minor, Broken hand, skid rash, exhaust burn, smashed ankle and wrist.
Worst one was in a Volvo car, got hit from behind whilst stationary, damaged severely my back, left hip and neck. Hospital for ages and a long time in rehab. Also had a minor stroke from a head trauma and stabbing in the belly during an attempted mugging.
one, I was 15 and we were coming back from Tela, a port here, we had a nice family trip and my dad was driving 120 km on the high way and all of the sudden on a curve a herd of cows was there running towards us, no one put signs or anything when my daddy hit the breaks of the car they stop functioning, thank God, if not we wouldve been dead the 4 of us, cause the impact was extremely strong I remember two of the cows rolling on the car ceiling and one hit the front glass and broke it all almost coming inside those 3 cows died but we were ok, and luckily there were lots of people around to help to stop the car cause we couldnt stop it, it was a very very ugly experience I dont wish to anyone, and give thanks that nothing happened to us.
It wasn't a "near death" experience in comparison to those I read on here. It was in the winter. I was driving north on Interstate 95 up from Virginia to New Jersey and in the blink of an eye and ice storm hit and the road was a sheet of ice. Cars were going slow but were swerving all over the place. I probably wouldn't have been killed but being in that situation I felt that I could have. All it would take was a big tractor trailer to hit me or push me over the railing and I would be done for.
When I look back on it now, it was in 1980 when seat belts weren't mandatory and I didn't have mine on. Bad girl.
A few close calls... Lets just say I believe in angels or even something greater and this is why...... both of us sober coming home from school function (19yrs ago) me in the passenger seat asleep... waking up to us heading straight into a telephone pole on the freeway... with a second on my side I swerve the wheel to the left missing the pole by a good 10 feet... waking up my good friend who had fallin asleep at the wheel... Angel number two came maybe ten years ago on the same freeway heading back from a Rush concert (ever heard of them does the song Tom Sawyer ring a bell) at the Gorge at George, Wa. Its a good three hour drive back. Coming home that night, I drove and most the night I drove in the fast lane... about 20 min. before we get home I just said outta nowhere someone else has to drive... sure enough a good friend says yep I'll drive... Me I like the fast lane, my friend he sticks to the slow lane... within a half mile of our switch we see head lights coming at us going the wrong way down the freeway... Had I been driving in that fast lane...I don't know about you but I believe in angels
