Wow, "art?" Thank you for your kind words, Ice, and thanks as well to all the others who have responded favorably to our humble attempts to put emotion on paper. These 2 pieces were done exactly 1 month and 2 days after our first contact on CS, and a few days after our first face-to-face meeting. And, tomorrow we will have been married a month! Thanks again to all: you're too kind!
I'm not sure whether men can truly appreciate how this feels to a woman. Societally, women are programmed to think of ourselves in terms of of motherhood and career; without both (or at least a conscious decision to do one or the other), we feel less than female. I understand your pain. You have my empathy!
To answer the original questions: Yes, and YES!! Met my soulmate here on CS. However, we met in person shortly after meeting online, and the REST IS CS HISTORY!! He didn't travel to another country, but (at close to 1,000 miles and other differences) it might as well have been!
Still, I don't recommend falling in love this way. It worked for us, but we're a bit more "seasoned" than some of you young pups, and that played in our favor.
Make that FOUR!! And, if you don't mind an "evaluation" by an old lady, here's what I think.
My stepbrother is a guitarist, Cbond36, and his first wife finally had to admit that he loved his guitar more than her; they were subsequently divorced! I must assume that this is not a unique situation!
I'm assuming by your pics that you're trying to show your sensitivity and creativity. That's all well and good (and certainly a plus for many females); however, I PERSONALLY want to see more of the HUMAN behind the profile!!
Guess I feel qualified to comment merely because I found my soulmate here on CS. Hope you don't mind!!
Best of luck to you in your search. You sound like a really nice guy, and I wish you the best!
Know what you mean about the complexities of "computer magic." Thought you'd get a chuckle out of what my ex-husband called my computer: "the appliance from Hell." Always gave me a laugh, since they (ex's OR computers) can be a real pain in the butt when they don't cooperate!!
Please accept my condolences for your loss. Walked this same path a year ago, and it stinks. You will, however, survive: if for no other reason than to show the world what a wonderful human being your father raised. God bless. My prayers are with you.
for the "weeding out" process. While rejection can sting, its venom can be reduced if one (1) thinks of rejection as an opportunity to improve one's self, where applicable, and (2) keeps their eye on the prize and recognizes it as a stepping-stone to the RIGHT person!!!
If it helps, use the mental image of stepping on the head of the person who did rejecting. That helps every time.
Oh, Judy, if you only KNEW!! There's hardly time for laughter, what with all the running around to different stores to buy up their stock of bubble wrap!! Why, it's almost a full-time job!
By God, you DID ask about chickens!! I'll get my chickens YET, I will!!
Okay, we DO have buckets! But, I HATE those damned geese (their "shat" is too Chihuahua-like!), and there isn't an anvil anywhere on the premises (unless you count the canoe anchor!)
Judy, go get that granddaughter, and give her a huge hug and kiss for all of us here on CS who weren't blessed with children (or their "get"). But, stay tuned, the CS world still turns; and, keeping up, is a once or twice a week chore!
As for "loquacious," you keep on wordsmithing, my friend. Perhaps others will feel the need to actually use a DICTIONARY or something similar that is totally unheard of!!
Sorry, Mysticalguy, but at my age I have more than one accomplish-ment that I consider worthy of mention. Don't have any children to consider (), but besides "ensnaring" The Kansan, I am proud of obtaining AKC obedience titles (Companion Dog titles) on three of my Miniature Schnauzers and training 7 dogs to their Canine Good Citizen certifications, receiving approval as a nationally endorsed dog obedience instructor, and--on the professional level--developing and writing the winning proposal for a local travel agency (valued at over $11 million.
All of the above have given me great pleasure. Thanks for reminding me of them!
