awww i can hear the whistles and the cheers as me and ole smokey come out of that gate nostrils flareing heart pumping my legs streched wide on smokey's back leaning into my saddle holding those reigns close to smoky's ear sayin come on boy lets win that purse tonite. our bodies as one, a flash across the dirt that first barrell waiting with its flag sticking up, smoky taking me for the ride, me just getting my grip, heels kicking in to the places smoking likes cause he knows this is the race he'll win tonite and just like always after the rodeo me and smokey will spend a cool summer nite winding down from the rush of the crowds and the roars just me and ole smokey and a moon so bright. i tell him he is the best thats ever been as i brush his mane and stroke his sore legs
