Everyone has offered an excellent point to reflect on. The best thing to do is observe if the guy is "holding back for something better," or, "holding back because he's afraid." I often do the latter as I've been burned and have trust issues. If it's the first then you should find someone more deserving of what you have to offer. Best wishes to you future.
I enjoy Mythbusters, How It's Made, Frasier, Hogan Knows Best, basically anything on Discovery or History Channel. I also enjoy shows about paranormal investigations like Ghost Hunters and Haunting shows.
While there are situations where "God" is obviously a man-made entity...cough, televangelists...you shouldn't discredit those with faith in a God. That's like denying that someone is/isn't in love with another. Faith, like love, is an emotional, personal foundation and only that individual can discern the truth behind their commitment.
On another note, I am aggravated by the fact that in our modern day people will place blame on a "Devil" for their own horrid actions. As with many things in our world, it is the lack of personal responsibility which is a possible cause for our creating such claims/entities. This is also a form of what you're speaking about in regards to a man-made entity. People need/want to have a feeling of hope, thus, God. They want to have someone to blame for life's tragedy/monstrosities, thus, the Devil. The problem is our innate ability to rationalize gives our species the potential for great achievements or degradation.
Why not? In my opinion, if thre is a God, it's not a matter of head game, it'd be a matter of establishing faith....thus, "test." We put people through tests to prove their faith in us and vice versa. While I understand your implications, and the notion that a "God" would be about that, the idea of religion can only be a man-made institution and, in my opinion, has yet to provide any reason for believing otherwise. Simply put, I believe in the probability of a God but life will continue if we find that he exists or not; it will just be up to ourselves to decide how we live, to choose right or wrong, which is what religion teaches. If there is a God, live well, treat others with respect and cherish every day you're given. If there isn't a God, live well, treat others with respect and cherish every day you're alive.
Unfortunately, I'd be most like an abused dog. Very defensive, seeks solitude and trying to recover from his wounds...I can just hear the violin in the background while I'm eating cheese with my whine.
Only forgive him if he's sorry for what he has done. If he's not sorry, it will happen again and possibly increase in severity. Be safe and best wishes to you.
If I lost my nerd pad, a.k.a. palm pilot, I'd be lost! Meetings would be missed, schedules would be lost....cats and dogs would sleep together...well, maybe that's a bit far. But it would suck, none the less.
Actually, even though they aren't committing crime, the very fact that they are here is illegal. Furthermore, the fact that they are here illegally will cause our government welfare institutions, a.k.a. taxpayers money, hardship because they use those resources.
RE: I am so in love but is he?
