RE: Do Men Secretly Love Bossy Woman?

Lol sorry if I gave you the impression I was referring to you as a timid door mouse Odette, believe me, nothing was furthur from my mind. Just provided a contrast, to the issue at hand.

RE: Why am I soooooooo

Maybe it isn't normal. If it is seriously affecting who you are, maybe you should consider getting help.

RE: What makes a profile stand out?

A clever pun in your user name doesn't hurt either.

RE: Do Men Secretly Love Bossy Woman?

I'd prefer a bossy woman, to a submissive one. To me a battle of wills with someone who knows their own mind and is not shy of expressing it, is far more appealing than a timid door mouse who won't express anything, without involving a long painful drawn out process.
That being said, there is no way I'd just roll over and let her have her way without a fight grin

RE: NO PHOTO

Maybe they're technologically challenged

Or just butt ugly grin

RE: Hi

Look interesting even

RE: Hi

I haven't seen it, but the trailers on YouTube loom interesting.

RE: What is message filter setting for?

Generally if someone says something like "keep your shirt on" they mean to stay calm and not rush into anything.

RE: .Rejection makes u angry?

It doesn't pay to get too emotionally invested in a first contact anyway. If someone is getting angry because they get rebuffed on first contact, they need to grow a thicker skin because it will not be the last time, by a long shot.

If I were to make contact with someone, while being that emotionally invested in the contact going well, I'd be sabotaging my chances of success, because I'd just come across as needy, and nobody likes that.

RE: Do you think you will meet your future partner on here?

It's tough when the search feels hopeless, sometimes.

Don't let it get on top of you. Have hope, and keep improving you're own life.

Sooner or later she'll show up, or life will be perfect without her grin

RE: Do you think you will meet your future partner on here?

Going for a good mix of angel & devil ?

RE: Do you think you will meet your future partner on here?

Are you trying for sainthood? grin

RE: Do you think you will meet your future partner on here?

One can live in hope

RE: Men using umbrellas manly

Maybe if they were using a frilly pink umbrella.

RE: Reasons for choosing your profile name ...

I tend to be a bit of a loner, so I initially wanted Lonewolf, but that was taken. So went with Bigbad so I could keep the wolf aspect.

I'm not sure it really suits me because I'm too much of a nurturer to pull off the role of villain.

RE: HOW MANY THINK YOU SHOULD HAVE TO POST A PIC

I heard a statistic recently that an ugly man who puts a photo in his profile is 4 times more likely to get a response on a dating site than a man with no photo claiming to be rich and handsome.

If that's true, then it's a bit of a no-brainer really.

RE: Who sent u mail last?

Diseased wife?! Wow what a smoothly. Gotta wonder what disease he passed on to her.

RE: Foreign Language

Great discussion by the way. Personally, I quite enjoy the subtleties of communicating in English, and I do tend to get a little frustrated with someone who doesn't get it. But I'd be more inclined to be patient with someone who was using English as a second language, than someone who was a native to the language but still had poor language skills.

I had a funny thought a few minutes ago, when I got a message from a young Chinese lady. The message she sent was a simple "hi" and an emoticon. When I looked at her profile it seemed like she was probably using a online translator to post from her language to English as the syntax was all wrong. So it occurred to me than replying back with another emoticon, while simple, is likely to be the best communication we could hope for.

Which is odd, because Chinese languages, being hieroglyphic in nature are a picture used to describe a concept, which is exactly what emoticons are.

Imagine a future universal language based on emoticons grin

RE: Are religious/spiritual people happier?

Wonder if they'll put a warning on the label as a result grin

RE: Are religious/spiritual people happier?

I was watching the Daniel Day Lewis version of Last of the Mohicans last night, and when he was describing the birth of the earth, moon and stars and how they were a monument to his dead friends. I've always found that scene incredibly stirring, because of the poetry of the ideas expressed.

But it got me thinking about what we give up in the modern world full of facts and figures. Does knowing the scientific "truth" steal a part of the romance of life that would otherwise nourish our spiritual beings?

Religions down through history have been humanity's way of explaining the unexplainable and I wonder what gets lost as science finds more and more things to explain.

RE: Gosh, I reckon I need help... I am totally engrossed in online shopping.

I recon there's some truth to online shopping hurting retail. It's nearly impossible to find a decent book store these days. Only book stores around that I can find are those annoying cheapo ones that don't pay anyone to organise the books, so you can't actually find anything you're after.

RE: One Idea How To Fix The Worlds Problems.

Yes because China is such a beacon of peace and harmony in this world rolling on the floor laughing

RE: One Idea How To Fix The Worlds Problems.

Not sure that hindus and Muslems together would be a good recipe for peace. After all India & Pakistan aren't exactly BFFs.

RE: Oz Music

Youtube and touch screens don't mix.
