Given there's so many divorces etc nowadays, I'd imagine there's a lot of employees running two houses / families so not much chance for saving however careful you are?
I really do hope this works out, and the feelings spill over into real life when you meet, or else this thread will be extremely painful for the two of you to read later.
A lot of us know how it feels to lose an animal that's been in the family for years. It gets easier, but there's always a lump in your throat when you think about them.
