Ahhh jess, you know some of the basics to me, lol.
While I may not know everything or as much as the next person, on any given subject, I do get involved, get informed and learn what I can about an issue that interests or concerns me. I vote, and only do so after hearing and learning what they have to say on their platform, and what they had to say in the past. I sign petitions, in person or online to issues of concern. I have even stop using a certain product and refused to contribute to a corporation that I know has done wrong. Gee, I even had a thread about KFC, lol.
While I have said I am but a small voice, and the tard's in office make decisions for me, and they lead contrary to what they said in the past, and to what I believe in, I do believe that people are at the point where they are sick and tired, and fed up with things being what they are.
My comment to throwing more money into the wind is not of defeat. I'm too stubborn to lay down or go away, lol. I just don't see things changing in the immediate/near future. Maybe by the time I am in a rocker, the ones behind us have learnt something and carry the torch for us.
Maybe long after we are gone, they will find a way that is of long term value and with actual results versus printing more money and throwing it into the wind.
For sure. There are standards to uphold, being the Village Idiot. People think anyone can walk in off the street and take the title. I hear it takes years of prep.
He had some good posts/comments while we were going back and forth a few nights ago. As for the other post, can't say for sure, but maybe the author was only trying to explain what he wanted to say, in the easiest manner. In a thread such as this.....it's not hard to piss someone off. But I think it's amazing it's gone so many pages and never to the point admin. had to lock or delete it.

Now see, I was hoping the entire life of this thread someone wouldn't bring up the citizenship card because I am still learing to accept what happened last year. The dual citizens that used Canada for the monthly support, but sent it all back home, where they lived 6-8 months out of the year, and when bombs started dropping, they demanded the Canadian government drop everything, risks the lives our men and women serving to come and bring them "home". I believe they were "citizens of convenience"?
So candis, what are your thoughts on Iran, them violating UN sanctions and their growing nuclear enrichment? Which, if any, of the keyfactors in the UN are gonna give?
For sure.....I was backreading and read some posts saying they have the right, as do other countries, to have nuclear programs. Was a random thought, back on the enrichment agenda. Carry on Prof..... great thread by the way.
I mentioned that earlier. No one is disputing their right to nuclear programs, just the right for enrichment, and take into the fact they violated the sanctions.
I agree and know thrid world countries are faced with poverty, disease, living on the streets and not knowing where their next meal, if any, is coming from. While I have never been to a third world country, I do try to be informed, understadn what is happening and why.
In saying that, modern countries are giving billions and billions yearly in financial aid, sending workers, teachers, religous leaders, doctors and nurses.....and they have never put a dent in it! I remember being 10 years old and seeing the exact same situation, the same telethons, the same videos and documentaries. 32 years later, and not much has changed.
I saw a documentary on a third world country, and the families in it had 6-8 kids, and the kids were having kids. I honestly do not understand, of bringing more children into the life of poverty if they cannot survive themselves.
Will there ever be a point these countries will no longer require or expect financial aid from other countries?
I so want to hear how or if it's ever going to be possible jess, LOL. Is why I put the thread up. Will she ever get back on her own and not require the aid and workers from other countries? I'm interested in what others around the world have to say, and yes, would love to hear your's jess, honestly.

Our Prime Minister announced that in addition to the $1 billion we already committed, Canada will give an additional $200 million in reconstruction aid to rebuild Afghanistan. While I think that's an amazing effort, I can't help but wonder how, when they are making cuts here at home, in regards to healthcare and education and the rates of welfare/unemployment/workers compensation fraud escalates and they say there is no money?!
Will Afghanistan ever be able to get back on her feet, to the point other countries can stop the financial aid and withdraw their workers?

Is there really any reality of a Freedom55?!
It's been said that since ecomomic sanctions failed to stop Iran's nuclear program, key factors of the UN support tightening of sanctions in increaments. The UN want to discuss how best to punish Iran for expanding their enrichment program.

The patch and the gum contain nic. I know people who quit 2 yrs ago and are addicted to the gum. Zyban is by perscription, as someone posted earlier. There is a new losenge on the market here, not sure if you have it, called Resolve. You slowly disolve it in your mouth, but you don't quit smoking immediately, it is gradual, until you totally have no cravings for a cig.
