I think a common misconception is that people on the street, do not choose to be on the street. Many choose this as their life. A statement that they do not agree with and will not live in "the system".
When you step back, sometimes it seems that life would be so much simpler without "the system"...
Can we really call a first meeting for coffee a date?
I think first dates should be original (way to go Kid!)... take some effort in "dreaming" up, and set a stage for a great second date. My biggest question at this stage is...
Soon I'll be able to curl up and watch one... maybe even get my nails done! Caught the tailend of today's race this morning. Looks like an exciting finish this year!
It's hard to keep it clean when you've got so many projects on the go. Note to self... heed the "Keep it Clean" sign on the garage door!
Put all the moving boxes in the attic. Line up all the shutters to be painted. Fill up those clear containers with all the fix it stuff all over the place. Clean up all the painting garbage. Make room for the car!
Dog kennel, 24" x 42" Dog crate for the Jeep, at least that big Doggie blanket Stuffed toys Deep Freeze for raw feed Collar Leash Feeding dishes Raw feed Rhodesian reference books
All the major painting is done! The eavestroughing is all installed. Looks absolutely stunning!!
And the scaffolding has gone back to its rightful home... got a steal too! Not sure what happened, but I got 4 weeks rental for 2. It worked for them, who am I to complain?
1 more colour on the front window and 4 shutters left to paint and 6 to install. Not this weekend, tho. Now I can focus on puttering around inside and getting ready for another work week and puppy(ies)!
Have some minor painting projects on the house left for spring, door window frames and basement windows and maybe even the garage doors (after I consult my decorating committee)...
Next weekend??? To the lake... Shed is ready to take on the lake stuff. Shelving and the big haul... can't forget the lock! Weekend after that??? Organizing the garage!
The only one that wouldn't go away that I'd like to is my ex... but then, we still have children to raise.
I've never crossed that line in a friendship... not to say that friendships don't develop first in relationships, but there was a relationship destination in mind. For those that relationships developed with, I feel a sense of diminishment in "just being friends" and would have a hard time remaining in the proper place within them. I can't see acceptance from a future relationship under those circumstances either. All were special in their own ways... and I do miss them.
Bottom line... I have no regrets! I've loved, laughed, learned and lived... all have their legacies.
I've been very fortunate having loved more than one, I guess. Seasons tho, not lifetimes obviously... residual friendships are too hard to bear, for me.
As they say, 'Its better to have loved and lost than to not have loved at all'
Next weekend is the weekend that puppy(ies) come home! This is my first experience with an experienced set of breeders. We sent scented clothes and a scented stuffed animal home to puppyland a couple of days ago. Over the course of this week... puppy(ies) will be segregated in their own kennels with the scents from their new homes. This is quite the process!
Has anyone been through this before? Any tips and tricks I should know about?
The day is going to be way too nice to be thinking about winter, but...
...yesterday I finished 2 of the three windows at the front! Ready to take the tape off today. I love unveiling.
One more colour on the big front window, the garage is finished! Hopefully, one more coat of colour on the front of the house and its finished! ... and then the eavestrough - only the end pieces left. Have some touch ups I want to do, but they aren't crucial.
Wow! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!!!
Nope, no curtains on the window yet. That would definitely be a woman's garage. The door is a beautiful merlot wine colour... same as the doors to the house.
Organization, absolutely! Once my winter projects are over... how did you know about my cordless drill? Does the cord make the difference? Hmmmm, I'm seeing some parallels here...
"There are major ethical concerns about all three types of cloning, when applied to humans." ... as there should be!
As with everything, there is yin and yang. We tend to see both derived from these types of things... human nature is not evolved enough as a whole to "mess" with these things (to put it lightly).... Besides, what happens to natural selection and balance?
No worries, Curly. Although I have joked about that one, I've done the pink thing with my hockey gear already. Pink hockey gloves and a pink hockey stick. Believe it or not, all the young boys were jealous!
Pink is a popular colour with young guys these days. Likely to the dismay of homophobic fathers!
