I agree with freedom of choice. The schools are another matter, but in court or when dealing with security, it is the law. For the sake of the short time for security check or testimony, surely they can take it off, it does not hurt to be a bit flexible in these matters, as it does not wipe out 1400 years of tradition.
Same circumstance here in Canada. The law is the law. This is a Christian country, very tolerant, and multicultural. When in Rome you do as the Romans do, makes sense to me.
Obviously that fellow was a liar. I honestly believe it's one of the worst things people can do to one another. He was hiding something, and because of insecurity, could not face up to it. Keep your chin up, I hope there are more honest men than liars out there.
