RE: parenting

Best:

Those little things they create for you. Cards, notes, crafts. Projects the kids make for you at school, holidays etc. Those are priceless to me, I have a whole box of them. I still have things my son had made for me from 15 years ago. It's only one box, I'm not a fanatic. The other thing is being able to see a little of yourself in them as they grow older.

Worst:

No owner's manuel.confused

RE: Is there such a thing as a "soul mate"

Some of us guys like to over analyze and completely miss the overall point. I'll apologize in advance.

I believe in past lives to an extent. Mainly because if we think we're so smart we know everything, well that's really dumb. Because we don't, we're just starting to discover the little blue ball we live on and how much trouble we're in. If you can be born once, why would it be so surprising to be born twice. Everything in nature renews itself. Maybe we keep getting sent back over and over until we finally learn our lessons. I'm just commenting because I think this is a discussion all on it's own. Maybe Someone should start a thread on it...............then, we can discuss about reincarnation all over again! LOL

I agree that we can be "complex and needy creatures" with a higher level of conscience. But this is a natural thing as well. I'm sure some of us have witnessed whereas a pet had lost a long term companion, and being unable to bounce back. It's very hard for any living soul. I believe that our higher, humane level of conscience gives us a better ability to adapt.

Unfortunately we only have one life to live (for those that don't believe in reincarnation anyway). It is difficult to move on without the desire or tendency to view a new partner as the old. Us living souls don't like to start over, not like that.

I think the most important conscience to have is that you will not replace or re-create, out of respect and gratitude for what you had, that helps give closure from one chapter to the next. I think this is important in order for your heart to fully accept new beginnings, and grow. In that sense you have better chances in finding a similar level of connection, happiness, and fulfillment. As FatBrunette put it so very well earlier.

I can't believe I said FatBrunette twice now without getting slapped...in public yet.

I also agree that "Soul-mates must be born rather than made". Although, the way I feel is that intimacy is not a required ingredient between Soul Mates. I feel that Soul Mates can be best friends as well, furthering the ability to find fulfillment.

SoulMate. Is that one word or two? I think it looks better as one.

RE: Do You Care What People Think of You?

I think it depends a little on the people you know, or have gotten to know. Then there is family, that's tricky.

Unless I am questioning my own motives, priorities, activities, actions etc. I feel that it's best to depend heavily on my own feelings about myself, because I do control myself and it is my own sanity.

Wanna see who your real friends are? Screw up and see who's still there.

There comes a point in your life when you realize who really matters, who never did, and who always will.
