I also want the best in life for my children, I do understand that the education system is different over here, we still have to fight for the best though, had many years of lingo and always told my kids that they can talk like that to their friends! but they can not talk to me like that!, I do and will not take offence and no need to apologise, as a mother I do now understand where you are coming from, it is frustrating when you know how you have raised your child/ren and they still refer to slang
it's a sorry state of affairs when children are still be less educated than we were, but lead by example, if they see you reading a newspaper they think it's quite normal, even better for them to see you read a book, less T.V or video games, and more interaction, hows that honey for a dyslexic????????
Sod it!!! I am a dyslexic, why the hell do they make a hard word /weird spelling for people who find it difficult, sometimes when I am trying to get a point across I do not check my spelling of a word/s. I find it rather rude of others to say this or that has bad spelling or grammer when they don't understand what that person has over come to get this far, I am neither lazy or un-educated, and after all the webster's dictionary is bastaerdised english, for example gray=grey or color=colour, old saying jumps to mind - look before you leap!
