RE: Health Care Reform Poll

You forgot the options of: I have/don't have health insurance and I support reform that doesn't involve government take over.

RE: Obama Rocks! Could the job being done better by republicans?

You obviously didn't read the part where I said that we need to have health care reform, but a government take over is not the right way to go about it.

It's pretty obvious that you're not a "think outside the box" type of person if you think that there is only one (government) way of providing every AMERICAN with health insurance.

RE: Obama Rocks! Could the job being done better by republicans?

Here's the thing about the government run "Public Option."

With only the top 5% of earners paying for the "Public Option," that means that health insurance will be "free" for 95% of the American public. Sounds good so far right? Well, just with anything else in life, there is always a negative to equal out the positives.

The current health insurance industry employs (I believe) around 2.5 million people.

Now, we all know how much we spend on health insurance, right? A lot!

If all of a sudden, the government says you, and 95% of the rest of you can have health care for "free," wouldn't you take it? I would!

The only thing is, 2.5 million more people just lost their jobs. Because the health insurance industry CAN'T compete with government!

With unemployment at roughly 10% now, how much higher would it go if we laid off 2.5 million more people? Not to mention the dominoe effect it would cause on other industries that depend on the health insurance industry.

I do believe that this country needs health care reform, but not a government take over which Barry Obama is in favor of.

RE: Obama Rocks! Could the job being done better by republicans?

President Bush didn't force anyone to go over to Iraq. Everyone of us Volunteered. Not one single person in the military was drafted to be sent to Iraq or Afghanistan. So all the cry babies who are mad at war, need to remember that the people who ACTUALLY fight the war's believe in their country and volunteered to fight the good fight. And they are the ones who continue to give you the freedom to express your difference of opinions. So until the day the U.S. government starts drafting people to go over and fight the fight, quit all the moaning and complaining about it.

And to all the people who complain about the billion dollars a month the government spends on the war, where do you think the money is going? Do you think it just disappears? The answer is no, it gets pumped right back into the economy, because all of that money goes to buy AMERICAN MADE uniforms for the troops, pay the AMERICAN MADE soldier and his/her family who is fighting the war. So the money doesn't just disappear people.

RE: who are the biggest threat to world security

Yes, Iraq and Saddam were allies of the united states before he gassed his own people and then started invading other countries. What's your point? And you still can't admit that Saddam Hussein was a murderous dictator who committed Genocide.

RE: who are the biggest threat to world security

Let's not forget that Saddam Hussein was tried and convicted of war crimes by his own people, and that he got the death sentence for his crimes against humanity. No liberals ever like to admit that one. They think that it's okay for a dictator to gas thousands of his own people, also known as Ethnic Cleansing, Genocide, what ever you want to call it. But it's always G.W.B who is the war criminal.

RE: who are the biggest threat to world security

Yes, we do agree. And I believe you meant to say a BILLION dollars a month, not a "million." I guess that puts into perspective the 787 billion dollar "stimulus" package that Obama had spent earlier this year. Now he wants to spend another Trillion dollars on Health care, because he says the American people spend too much on health care. And lets not forget that Obama campaigned on fiscal responsibility and to do away with "runaway spending" habits from the Bush administration, and that he would go line by line through any bill and cut out any unnecessary pork in the bills he signs.

Sure we can always look backwards and say what a poor job the previous Pres. did, but don't forget to look at what the trickster in office now is doing.

Cloning human organs

That's some pretty interesting stuff! I'm sure they have the ability to re-create human organs in a lab, but there is probably some law that is preventing this sort of thing from saving lives. I'm sure some third world country will probably figure it out before the U.S. or Europe.

Cloning human organs

If we have the technology to clone animals, then why can't we just clone human organs? Why do people who need transplants need to wait until people die to get them?

RE: who are the biggest threat to world security

Afganistan was a terrorist training ground. That's why we went in there. Yes, most of the attackers were Saudi, but Osama Bin Laden was the ring leader, and he had been kicked out of Saudi Arabia years prior.
Iraq on the other hand, I'm still unsure why we went into that country. I was only 19 years old when we went in there, and even then I knew that that was a bad idea.

RE: who are the biggest threat to world security

I'm just talking about the differences between American and European governments. Not the people.

RE: who are the biggest threat to world security

America was attacked by Japan, so we entered into WW2. America was attacked on September 11th, so we entered into the Global war on terrorism. Europe seems to get attacked by terrorism a lot more often than the U.S. does, and they don't seem to really care about it. The difference between America and Europe is that when the U.S. is provoked, we go after you until you surrender and the threat of another attack on our soil is squashed. Europe has, and seems they always will tolerate extremist activities and behaviors.

RE: YOU LIE! Another out of control SC Republican loses it.

Can you name those "failed policies?" Or are you just regurgitating what the liberal media wants you to think? Go ahead and name the "failed bush policies."

RE: how many of u really mind if ppl hate u?

Someone hated me so much one time, that he stabbed me. Three times. He probably hates me even more now, because he is in jail for at least 15 years, and I'm still alive! laugh

RE: john goodman found at last

Well, I already did. Sooooo, I guess I'm just S.O.L.

RE: john goodman found at last

It's just kind of weird that you would post this in a thread... blues

RE: how many of u really mind if ppl hate u?

It is isn't it! Well, you know what they say, don't you? "If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything."

RE: how many of u really mind if ppl hate u?

I'd rather people hate me for who I am, than to accept me for who I'm not.

RE: Obama Health Care Speech

I do believe that this country needs health care reform. I have nurse friends who tell me that the doctors they work for charge insurance companies for unneeded procedures, all because they can.
We also need to reform malpractice compensation so dr's don't have to practice defensive medicine. One issue the liberals like to skirt away from is, if you add close to 50 million more people on to health care, won't everyone have rationed health care? You can't add that many people without adding more dr's and nurses.

RE: Obama Health Care Speech

Exactly what I was thinking! Couldn't have put it in better words myself!

RE: What was the original sin caused by Adam & Eve?

Eve didn't eat an apple.

RE: do blind people dream in colour?

Yep, blind people dream in color.

RE: HOW did BUSH get THAT FAR ??

If it makes you feel any better, I voted for the governator too. I guess we can agree on something. applause

RE: Driving test every 10th year for each and everyone?

I was driving down a hilly road a couple of months ago, and the car in front of me was swerving over the center line dramatically, and the lady driving couldn't keep a consistent speed either. One time, her vehicle was completely left of the center line going over the top of the hill. At that point I decided to call the Police to inform them of a dangerous driver (I thought she was drunk), about a mile up the road she stops her car and as I pass her I looked and she was about 90 years old, and she had a passenger whom also was about 90 years old. They could have killed somebody that day. So I would agree with having a medical test after your 70th birthday to drive!

RE: Driving test every 10th year for each and everyone?

I think a driving test every two years once you reach the age of 60 would be nice.

RE: HOW did BUSH get THAT FAR ??

I would agree that politicians, left or right of the aisle, are inherently corrupt. They (the politicians) all have an "agenda." I believe that anyone who blindly follows an elected representative based on their liberal or conservative beliefs is an idiot at best. I have mainly conservative beliefs based on my own life experiences. I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and when I was 19 I joined the military and was stationed out in California. The city of Cleveland (much like Detroit) has been run into the ground because of liberal policy makers. California also has been run into the ground mainly do to liberal policy makers. Even though the Governator out there in Cali is a Republican, you have to understand that he is married to the most liberal family in the history of this country. I consider the Governator to be more center-left. But Californias problems were far in the making before Arnold took the helm.

Basically what I am saying is that everyone grows up with there own life experiences and makes there own decisions based on them, but to blindly follow any leader without question is a recipe for disaster.

RE: HOW did BUSH get THAT FAR ??

Unfortunately, you are hopelessly naive. Nobody likes going to war, but somebody has to do it. And you say that Obama, "appears to believe in the value of human life?" Then why did he elect Kathleen Sebelius to be his Health and Human Recources director when she believes it's okay to give late term abortions? I guess a baby's life is less important than a life of a person who stands up and fights for those who can not. And can you also explain that if Obama "appears to believe in the value of human life," then why is he rolling onto his back to an Iranian Regime that has publicly said it wants to kill an entire race of people??? You Europeans are so soft on bad guy/dictators. I guess letting the Lockerbie bomber out of prison for oil is much more humane than removing Saddam Hussein from power.

RE: HOW did BUSH get THAT FAR ??

i am not sure if it was the invassion of iraq that had george bush loose or weather it wss the mistakes he had made that had gotten his supporters to turn on him and vote in obama a lot of money was spent on the troops but not much real care when they came back from iraq

George Bush reached the end of his allowable term limit as president. We would've had a new president even if Obama didn't win.

RE: HOW did BUSH get THAT FAR ??

"Big business raping the public in unregulated fashion," you say? What ever happened to personal responsibility? Businesses aren't forcing me to buy their product. Those big bad banks didn't force anyone to take high risk mortgages. No business forced anyone to rack up 10's of thousands of dollars in credit card debt. I was never a fan of GWB, and I'm even less of a fan of Obama. Obama has all ready spent more money than GWB did in his entire 8 years in office. All that does is saddle Americans with debt and higher taxes. Frankley, I don't care what an elected official's worldly views are, as long as that individual is responsible with the peoples tax money. Which Obama isn't and GWB wasn't. And you can't blame all the world's ill's on one person (GWB in your case). That's just asinine.

RE: HOW did BUSH get THAT FAR ??

"Our economy has a solid foundation, but there are areas of real concern. The economy is still creating jobs, though at a reduced pace. Consumer spending is still growing, but the housing market is declining. Business investment and exports are still rising, but the cost of imported oil has increased," Bush said in a televised White House address."

This is a short clip of what GWB said in the link you posted!! You're only helping my side of the argument Genius!
