John, is it because we're asking for too much? Are we being too picky and those who read our "wish list," walk away knowing they don't fit the criteria? I'm thinking that's probably what it is.

I've set the bar high but, damn it, I'm not going to "settle" for just anyone and be miserable two months into the relationship!

At least I'm getting some insight to my question. Lots of younger men prefer older women and there's nothing wrong with it. Personally, I cannot imagine myself involved with anyone who's young enough to be my son! Just plain can't do it! (don't throw tomatoes at me!! )

Ship...thank you for posting! You might be right about these sites being geared to those in their 20's, 30's and 40's. Anyone over 50 seems to get lost in the shuffle.

I DO think you have to "think" young to keep up with most of the topics! Maybe THAT'S why there's only a few of us mature posters here.

WHY IS IT???

Why is it that I looked at 41 pages of men who are possible candidates for my age group and yet there are only 5 or 6 "mature" men posting here? I want to know WHY they're not posting! Most of them are most likely retired and able to post. Are they intimidated in any way? Do they not like the topics? (THAT could be fixed if they'd post their OWN topics.) Are they lazy? Are they REALLY not interested in meeting someone?

Okay...I'm curious and hope to get a few responses. I just don't get it!

Jag, I have to admit I also received a few flowers from much younger men and I was very flattered. They're sweet men and IF I could relate to the "older woman/younger man" thing, I'd have been REALLY impressed. I thanked them and told them I was waiting for someone almost on the other side of the dirt!

Maybe HERE in this "International Forum" there could be choices for "Eastern half of U.S." or "Western Half," etc....to narrow it down to REGIONS rather than states. That might attract a few more singles willing to jump in and chat.

I'm beginning to think that old saying "there's safety in numbers" is true. By posting in your state's forum, you're putting yourself out there for everyone to see with no place to hide. Many people aren't secure enough in their own skin to post topics or respond to them. Ya think?

I just checked both Profiles and it COULD BE a match. She's tall, but he's taller. She's very well educated and HE'S a hard worker. They're both close in age and it could definitely work...as long as he's okay with her smoking. Men usually ARE okay with it. Vice-Versa is a little more difficult because most women don't care for guys who smoke.
