I'm not England bashing. I feel sorry for them. Too much pressure and expectation built on not a lot. I am sure there are others in other countries who believed the hype too but you didn't have to be a rocket scientist to query the basis for making England one of the favourites.
If I was bashing anyone (and I'm not) it would be the English media who make it into the most important thing in the world....who assume victory based on talking to themselves and not watching what others are doing...and who immediately blame the team, the manager, the referees, the ball or whatever when England don't win. Truth is, they had some good players (and Rooney, very good indeed) but were never the best team going to South Africa or even near the best.
