It seems it's always easier to be a Monday morning quarterback. I've seen a snippet of the video but don't know what went on prior or after.
People expect police to be therapist, protectors, crisis intervention specialist, social workers, guardians, and a miriad of other things, including multi-lingualist. Unless one is in the crisis situation it's difficult to know what one would do.
I think it's likely that policemen want to go home to their wives and children at the end of the day, just like anyone else.
Social exchange theory would tell you that we give in order to get... Sort of a payback expection....while we may not consciously do it...in some way we do "hope" their's a payback.
