It seems it's always easier to be a Monday morning quarterback. I've seen a snippet of the video but don't know what went on prior or after.People expect police to be therapist, protectors, crisis intervention specialist, social workers, guardians, and a miriad of other things, including multi-lingualist. Unless one is in the crisis situation it's difficult to know what one would do.
I think it's likely that policemen want to go home to their wives and children at the end of the day, just like anyone else.
