I've got some kind of musk...I don't know what it is though. (how bad is that?) It's not overly expensive, but I like it...and women compliment me on it. To some degree, I think it has to match the chemicals we give off from our bodies. I've not done any kind of scientific study though... :)
I can't speak for Brits (even though your main problem is the taxes on you petroleum, not the actual price of gas).
As for America:
- no one wants an oil well in their back yard - hell, even the Kennedy family got windmills banned from their properties, and that's only a friggin windmill. - Americans have to have an army tank vehicle to feel safe and for status. -The American govt makes more $ from a gallon of gas than does Exxon. -There's no shore around America where it's okay to drill because we like our shores pristine. -State & city governments want "custom blends" for their specific local areas. Anytime you custom produce something, it's going to cost more. -radical environmentalist (why say more) -And with that said, world markets along w/OPEC have more impact on the gas prices than anything here in the US.
Wait 2 years, $3.00 gas will seem cheap.....especially when the carbon tax gets pushed thru Congress. It's already been discussed in the presidential debates.
The next time we're attacked again, we'll want every drop of reserve oil we have...regardless of who's president.
To think it's an oil company problem is having one's head in the sand.
I've got the cutest lil grandaughter so I'm looking forward to seeing her open her presents. She'll be about 18 months. Should be fun.
Christmas can be what we want it to be. Sometimes we have to look outside ourselves. It's not what we get, but what we give...and that doesn't have to be monetary.
I'm funny about my food. When the ex "in-laws" used to come to visit, they'd always go to the stove and eat from the pots and pans while the food was cooking. I found it disgusting. Hell, by the time food was ready for the table, they were all full
