The govt wants you to stop smoking because of related health costs, but it doesn't want you to quit to badly, because they're addicted to the revenues generated.
During the last Democrat debate, almost all said they would ban smoking in public if they had their way. So much for protecting the downtrodden, huh?
Around here a pack of Marlboro's are 3.75ish. There are places online where you can get generics for 1.45/1.75 a pack. Probably taste like rolled horse manure though?
Anyone had mountain oysters lately. At a pub where I used to frequent they'd have them once a year.... Not bad, as long as you don't dwell on it too long....
May want to go to IndyStar.com. Look at the election results for a 2 term Dem mayor who was up approximately 20% a few months ago. There was a ground swell at the grass roots level.
Also, the city council did a major flip, with the Dems being in majority by 1 seat. After the election they lost 5 seats, as I recall.
Along w/increases in property tax up to 800% in certain neighborhoods and a 65% county income tax increase, the public showed him to the exit.
At best, I think you'll find an anti-incumbent attitude next election, regardless of who's in. With the exception of the top of the ticket, I'm voting opposite of what I did last election. A few months ago, I though Hillary was a shoe in. Now I'm highly doubtful.
