The one who is "interested but shy" is actually contemplating how quickly she can dial 911 the moment you screw up. Only go for the ones who can be direct enough to express their interest in an unquestionable way. The rest, don't take seriously...

Diplomacy used to gently push off an unwanted suitor tends to mimic shy behavior.
A "hello" note may get you a response, no matter what...
but a "would you consider a get to know you coffee" note may get you a more accurate response.
The only way to definitely know, is to clear the air with point blank questions.
Every woman is reacts differently... so best of luck in reading the signs.
