no, the people we supported were dependant , plus the message that would have given to staff would have been disasterous.

Exactly if you are dependant on your employment they have you over a barrel.

striking was not an option, i worked with Adults with Learning Disabilities, similiar to the committment of nursing.

But everything they did was within employment law

Sounds quite similiar, hardest thing i found was i was being told to sit tight and not worry. I felt so disloyal to my colleauges but i couldn't financially afford to stand by my convictions.

I went thro a 'Re Structure' as they called it. with the farce of mediation. I was one of the lucky ones they wanted to keep, had to go through a ridiculous interview for lower graded job and a pay cut of 3,000 pounds a year! Was successful at the interview, then a week later i was given additional responsibility and my 3,000 pounds back ! But it achieved what they wanted and they got rid of the people they wanted to. !! The whole thing was awful and very unsettling and disruptive

yep, it's funny but she has A daughter now, and i see her setting the same rules i set for her, and getting just as stressed as i did how it all evolves
