I also tend to stay way from religious threads except when the OP is a believer so my replies are strictly meant for the OP and I can then ignore everybody else. Plus, I decided some years ago that would not get into debate or arguments with non-believers as it felt like I was talking to walls. I decided that their soul wasn't my responsibility and that people will believe whatever they want.
And no, 'hate' isn't a strong enough word to describe the feelings that some of the unbelievers hold towards Christianity and Christians in general these days, under the pretext that Christians believe in fairy tales.
In a way, it's our fault, us Christians, for wanting the best for our fellow humans and sharing the good news. I wish that every Christian started doing what I've started doing: not humoring the unbelievers and leave them be. After all, not everyone will be saved, although it is the wish of our Creator.
These marches are nothing but "in your face" feminism. These women have everything they need and damn near everything they want. What the hell are they matching for or against? Attention seekers, that's all they are. They crave attention like a fish needs water. "Look at me, look at me! I'm a woman who yells in the streets for the things my grandma already achieved! Ain't I brave?"
As a youth councilor, I used to talk a lot with the under-20 and still do now, when they permit. Based on my conversations with a lot young people, I'd say it's the adults who are lost.
Another march? What do they want now? We've heard all their ridiculous demands like free tampons and the right to "bleed freely" so maybe they want dress manufacturers to only make red ones? Or are they still demanding innocent men pay for the bad ones?
Nope. I was glad she won because it was about deciding what movie we'll all go see and I ended up enjoying the movie she picked. I wanted to go see Avengers and she wanted to go see Deadpool 2... That movie was funny.
Indeed ! No matter the differences between our governments, we, you, I and them are human beings first and partisans second. Those who don't see it that way are the ones who contribute to the problems.
We all come from somewhere and we all have rich family histories. Only some of us know our ancestry and others do not. The people of your country must also have long and rich family history. China has been around for something like 4 thousand years so I expect some of your families to date back to the Xia dynasty.
Already done it. I have a rich family history dating back to the times of the pharaohs' Mamlukes on my dad's side and back to the Gallic/Germanic Belgae on my mom's side.
In the past, yes I agree with you. Both Left and Right were needlessly arguing and hurting their constituents and they were both wrong in my eyes. But nowadays, it's gone beyond pointless arguing. The Honorable President of the United States is battling an international criminal group of globalists whose sole interests is to make money on the back of the American people and the people of the world. In that fight, he has my full support.
When political views, or any view, is based on experience then the person who had those experiences cannot be swayed one way or the other because his/her arguments are based on real life, not theories and lies.
True but I prefer not to bicker, especially with morons whose sole purpose is to make someone mad and not make a good point...because most the time they have NO argument, just insults.
Now there are posters whom I don't agree with, who have solid arguments and don't aim to insult but educate. I love those posters, even if I don't entirely agree with everything they say.
I'd say it's true for the most part. I browse the threads while doing something else at home and the forum are a distraction for me, although I'm always alert for something I can learn from.
Some people are intolerant of some of the posts because they disturb their ideals or come too close to the actual truth. Some people think themselves so high and mighty that they refuse to aknowledge when someone makes a good point or that they're outright correct. I think that's where that intolerance comes from, a lack of humility.
For exemple, take the feminist man. He thinks he supports Equality and Justice for all and feels pretty good about it. Then he reads a thread or post that completely shatters his view and burst his bubble. All of a sudden he's the facilitator of injustice, mysandry and gender discrimination. He cannot refute the arguments presented in the thread and so he becomes resentful and hateful of those who have so easily shattered his reality.
Then there are people who are simply jealous and jealousy can lead to hatred as well.
RE: Enlightenment: a non politics thread
Bravo. You set a good example.
