To buy a little log cabin in the mountains of Northern Georgia or Tennessee..Only requirement..a wrap around porch..to see the beauty that surrounds me..I never felt so at peace..as I do, when I am close to the clouds.
I was 2 almost 3 when an eye of a category 5 hurricane hit where I live....I can still remember the friggin howling of the wind--it really does sound like a train..scary as heck..
What I find sad is so many have to joke about other's misfortune....
I have been to the Bahamas many times..
There is no middle class...the rich who mostly live on the east coast of Florida...with vacation homes..who use that as a retreat...the mega rich...who can buy an island and build their own airport...the rest are pretty much poor..
Go to Nassau..cross over the bridge..to Paradise Island--it'll cost you money to do that..Then, you will really see the difference...they even have their own modern hospital..nothing like the old, in desperate need of repair..hospital..for the common folks.
Many from the Abaco Islands rely on going to private islands to take vacationers on excusrsions....these people have lost everything...
Sustained 185 mph winds over you for 24 hours....there is not going to be much left....small islands which would be completely underwater..
Nothing political..just sad..that people joke about other's misfortune.....
It will take years for these people to be back to square one...most probably never will ever be the same....
Maybe just my opinion---but comes from lessons of life...
Many men are very threatened by a woman who voices her opinion---or sets boundaries--on how she will be treated...you know...name calling....condescending attitudes....or, not able to think outside the box....meaning their ego has been hurt..cause she was not willing to be put down...or play those silly games..of he is so much better than she is...You know....do as I say you should do not, what I do--which means they win..But, in reality they lose...cause as you get older, you do not have the time to fall for the BS....Cause if you call me on it....I will ignore....lie...and devalue you..Ha ha...
I had a good guy for 36 years..we were equal in our marriage...He had a messed up father and an awesome mother..The exact opposite for me....
Live and learn from your life lessons...
Fix yourself...no need to fix anyone who YOU think needs fixing. You can not fix anyone who has been abused as a child----no amount of love--will fix them..So, you just fix YOURSELF....not fall for the BS and games...

My day went very well...I finally found a contractor to fix my fireplace for a fair price..What I thought was just cosmetic fixes ended up being structural damage from Irma...Got tired of being given the round about about how expensive and how no one could fix it without charging an arm and a leg...He will be here on Friday to start the work...Then house goes on the market..and, I can the go ahead for the building to start on my new place...Smaller but so much less maintenance..and no pool to maintain...
