Beyond phobias that could be irrational, some fears could be caused by traumas in varying degrees of severity of course... There is still some degree of irrationality in the fear as there is no knowing if the trauma will happen again but the fear was born from something 'real' ... that kind of fear might be unacknowledged and just provoke a certain type of compulsive behaviour without the person being aware what caused it...
All the different ways people use to overcome their fears are really interesting... The awareness that burying a fear and facing and overcoming it are 2 different things is quite important!
My question was deeper ... what is in your persistantly visiting your life even though you don't want it there? And which unacknoeledged fear is it likned to? In the Rabbit/Eagle syndrom kind of fashion?
Places that don't involve bars or booze to meet people of any age group:
Workshops of any subject that interests you, from poetry to art, to learning a new language to yoga, trekking and walking, meditation, birdwatching, wildlife and plants etc...
Any age group people go to those and on top of that you meet people with similar interests..
Datings can work too..
Travelling brings new opportunities ...
Why would anyone want to go 'pick someone up in a bar' unless all they're after is a one night stand and a few STDs!
Ahhhhhhh! I get you! So fear of losing control over a possible loss of your own quality of life ... but remedied by the provisions made... so that leaves no fears!
You have your whole life under controle till your last bresth
It depends on the circumstances I think ...sometimes it kicks in the 'fight or flight' instinct that could save our life...
Also feeling fear could be a message to us to heal something or to look at illogical cultural inheritence passed down from generations or cultute or society or connected to gender stereotypes...
Fear can be our 'teacher' when we befriend it and diffuse its power
Do you think you there is a inner peace you can reach that will dissolve the being scared a bit of the actual dying part? And... so do you mean you don't fear death once your dead but not so sure how you will experience the actual dying process... as in the possible physical discomfort or pain?
A successful first date would feel like I'm in the right place, at the right time, with the right person. It would feel like I'd like many more present moment with that person where I continue to feel like I'm in the right place at the right time in his company
