For the fennel syrup:
Lightly grind the fennel seeds using a mortar and pestle. Grind them just enough to release the oils. Do not turn the seeds into a fine powder.
Combine lightly ground seeds, sugar, and water in a saucepan over a medium-high heat. Allow the mixture to come to a boil. Cook for 5 minutes until it slightly thickens.
Remove mixture from heat, and allow it to infuse for 1 hour
Strain the syrup, and let it cool before using in a cocktail.

Fill a stemless wine glass with ice.
Add the fennel syrup, ouzo and coffee flavoured liqueur and stir.
Top with chilled brewed coffee and garnish with an orange slice.

With or without a date..

I'm the same with takeaways, but I do buy stuff online, my last purchase was a cocktail set, was much small than I was expecting (I've heard that said before

) but it was only a tenner and does the job.. I'm partial to an espresso martini these days..

One of my sons comes up and stays with me and always insists on a dilveroo, he's a gym guy too, and I find the grub is always terrible, costs a fortune, the stuff just doesn't travel so good..

Modern life is grand, except it's making people lazier, for example shopping online, no need to deal with the unwashed, a good thing at times I guess.. People are becoming more recluse, and that was before the dreaded "Lurgy" of the past 2 years..

Thanks Ozzie, a cheap pair but very stylish..

I've have had many teachers, some aggressive and some not so, I guess took from both, but I always preferred butter to margarine or maybe a slap of mayo.. I never fell in love with any though
