All the world is an "Oil Mad Economy" my friend...including Scotland. Without it: there is *no* economy! There is *no* substitute, there are no *alternatives*...nothing that will equal the cost effectiveness or ease of production to be found with it. And it isn't just about cars...just about EVERYTHING you touch, throughout any given day, is brought to you from OIL! The keyboard you use for your boring rants is made with petroleum!

Well, personally, I think life would suck big time if everyone had the same views....especially same views as me! How would I ever learn anything? I love to argue...who would I argue with? LOL

I don't know about naive but...prior to 9/11 there were dozens of warnings every DAY! Acting on and responding to each and every one is just about impossible. The reasons our military was down sized are the same every time: democratically controlled house and senate looking for money for social programs....the attitude that "This is America: Can't happen here"! is pervasive in every democratic administration......
Yes it is good business, in a macabre sort of way. You know who profits the most? Not GWB, not even America....it's the World Bank! For the past 1000 years they have bankrolled both sides in just about every major conflict humans have engaged in! They love war! Especially if there is a nation out there that has the temerity to even THINK about leaving the World Bank and going back to a Gold Standard....every nation that has tried it, and even succeeded for a short time, has been attacked by someone financed by the World Bank....
Agreed: incompetence, greed, avarice...pretty much all the 7 deadly sins pervade every corner of the hallowed halls of Congress....can't last forever though: I have a feeling its all gonna come crashing down...in our lifetime too...
