Could it be that the site is called Connecting Singles, and one has to be unmarried to join, so maybe just being on here could be perceived as "advertising"?

That way we'd have only the serious singles left...

Come to think of it, I'm not really interested in finding somone in Farming / Agriculture / Forestry, Homemaking / Child Rearing, Military or Science / Research... maybe these can be removed as well...
