RE: For a Friend

Oh yes you have been there for me.You never once passed judgement on me and never told me that I've grieved long enough cause everyone grieves differently.

You were there for me when the rest of the world walked out including my own family.

We all need someone we can turn to in our hours of need and you were there and I know you won't abandon me and are in this for the long haul.

And I thank you for having this great gift that god has bestowed on you to not just write poetry but in helping those in need and I'll always be grateful that you're in my life and love you for it.

RE: The way to a womans heart!!!!!!!!!!

If a man wants to get to win my heart all he has to do is just be his sweet self and not try to impress me with material things.

Surprise me with a picnic and a stroll in the woods. Treat me as the lady that I am.

RE: How Is One To Become Intelligent?

There are several things that the profoundly gifted have in common:

1. They’re born with a high capacity for short term and long-term memory storage. Later this can be extended greatly by practice but the trait exists from birth.

2. A trait generally unnoticed, they have a naturally long attention span. This too becomes better with practice.

3. Almost from birth they have an insistent drive. They have a compulsion to learn, to figure things out.

4. Their intelligence has been nurtured. Their zest for knowledge needs to be fed by being provided with access to books and information. Unfortunately, a large percentage of gifted children lose their desire for learning because their family and teachers unknowingly hold them back. The rush to discovery gets sluggish when they’re forced to sit in a classroom and do pages of elementary addition problems when they’ve already learned algebra.

RE: For a Friend

It's poems like this which have helped through what I'm going through right now.

I'm hoping that these beautiful words help that particular friend too cause we all can use a someones compassion and understanding when we're going to trying times like this friend is going through.

I found out it's ok to grieve/mourn and cry that it's helps us in the healing process.

It's also ok to be angry, and sad at the same time.

RE: The Call That Never Comes

Another beautiful poem as usual.hug

RE: broken hearts purple hearts

I couldn't begin to know what Tom must be feeling right now because of the vandalism of his wife's gravesite.

It takes some mighty stupid/sick and heartless people in this world to do something like that.

RE: GOD ONLY TAKES THE BEST.

Daniel sure is an angel and we're both so fortunate to have met such a man.

RE: GOD ONLY TAKES THE BEST.

I know exactly how you're feeling right now.My husband passed away last February and I'm still healing. Daniel helped me alot by listening to me talk about how I was feeling and listening to me cry.

Daniel told me in so many words that it's going to take me quite awhile to heal and I'm starting to do just that.

Daniel does have a way with words doesn't he? He also has a wonderful gift of helping people who need his support and understanding. Not many people have his gift.

I doubt if I could've found any better friend then Daniel.

RE: Any song ever stopped you in your tracks?

I was listening to the radio one day and heard this song being played. As I listened to the words being song it made me think of my late husband which brought tears to my eyes.I googled for this song on You Tube and must've played this song over and over many times.

"To Where You Are" by Josh Groban

Who can say for certain
Maybe you’re still here
I feel you all around me
Your memories so clear

Deep in the stillness
I can hear you speak
You’re still an inspiration
Can it be (? )
That you are mine
Forever love
And you are watching over me from up above

Fly me up to where you are
Beyond the distant star
I wish upon tonight
To see you smile
If only for awhile to know you’re there
A breath away’s not far
To where you are

Are you gently sleeping
Here inside my dream
And isn’t faith believing
All power can’t be seen

As my heart holds you
Just one beat away
I cherish all you gave me everyday
’cause you are mine
Forever love
Watching me from up above

And I believe
That angels breathe
And that love will live on and never leave

Fly me up
To where you are
Beyond the distant star
I wish upon tonight
To see you smile
If only for awhile
To know you’re there
A breath away’s not far
To where you are

I know you’re there
A breath away’s not far
To where you are

RE: Tell us some places you have visited.....And places you want to visit....Why?

Hello Walter.

RE: Tell us some places you have visited.....And places you want to visit....Why?

I've been to Canada , Kentucky ,Tennessee and also lived in Southern Cal for 3-1/2 yrs left because I became homesick for my homestate of Michigan. But now reside in Ohio where I own my own business.

Sometime in Oct I'm taking a trip to Kentucky and Tennessee cause I've been to both places many times and I miss seeing the beautiful mountains.

I'm watching Anderson Cooper on CNN and he said IKE is expected to hit landfall within hours.

RE: Gas Prices

When I resided in Lansing and while Jennifer Granholm was still Attorney General of Michigan she wrote to all the owners of gas stations that if they didn't lower their fuel prices that she would fine them.

RE: Any song ever stopped you in your tracks?

I put on my radio a few years ago, realized it wasn't on the station I wanted, and walked towards it to change to the station I did want. The song playing made me freeze and I was totally entranced by it. I didn't recognize the voice so started writing down odd bits of lyric in case the DJ didn't announce who it was at the end.
It was "My Confession" by Josh Groban. The most beautiful and haunting song I have ever heard, still sends shivers down my spine as much now as when I first heard it.

RE: is it posssible??

And that we can choose who we love and don't love.

RE: is it posssible??

Pat I agree we do have a choice of who we love.

RE: is it posssible??

Anything is possible, but don't make any commitments over the internet. I think you can create a strong bond by just conversing, whether it should be taken further or not is a little more difficult to answer. I would always suggest getting to know someone in person on a daily basis before committing. You are going to run into flaws, and hard times that you may not be able to experience over the internet.

RE: Quote For The Day!!

At a cocktail party, one woman says to another "aren't you wearing your wedding ring on the wrong finger?" The other replied "Yes, I am, I married the wrong man". - Anonymous

RE: Does Snoring Bother You??

I'm not allowed to mention him on this site anymore cause then it would be considered grieving/mourning but.. a certain someone snored so bad I would pinch his nose together to make him stop. This only worked if his mouth was closed. I spent a lot of nights on the couch or in the floor of my sons room.
