I support individuals,no matter thier nationality, colour or religion. To support a nation as a whole is difflecult,as every nation has thier fair share of idiots.
Either way,the person is enquiring whether "Tom is here?",so its a question.Percentages do not come into it.Anyway,it doesnt suggest that at all,as it would depend on the tone of the voice when enquiring. What is "common english?". English is english, its only accents and the way people from differant areas alter it that makes it differant, but true english doesnt change,so teaching correct english is the way to do it.
Dear lovly Carenza, Thankyou for making this post so early before your departure, and to give a chance to those who have known you for year to say "goodbye". When all said and done, its no differant to saying goodbye to work mates ect. Posting it on facebook,or whatever, would mean people like myself who dont use such things, wouldnt get the oppertunity to wish you well, and of course, thier are those who are on holiday.A good idea of yours.
Really, what you are doing with your examples is asking a question, and answering it as well,in the same sentence. The easiest thing to do is just is just ask "Is Tom here?" From someone who isnt an expert,or thinks he is.
