RE: what's your opinion on downloading music without paying?

you mentioned classic rock? im a great fan of the band "hookfoot" do you know them, it kills me when i hear a pirate broadcast and they are playing the same stuff one would hear on regular radio.

RE: Favorite Pearl Jam song

what mite your opinion be on the downlad thread? oh, not real big on pearl jam.

RE: what's your opinion on downloading music without paying?

although i'm a strong advicate for pirate radio. and do partisipate. have you read 40 watts from nowhere" trish? i recomend it.

RE: what's your opinion on downloading music without paying?

i do agree with you on that, ive owned the stooges raw power, on three different formats a ripoff indeed, anything beyond vinyl and cd and im done, but i do seperate the artist from the record companys though, and most of the recording intustry is independant labals,
and individual artists that are unsighned putting out their own stuff, the major labals are what have screwed things up its no longer about the artist or artistry its pure greed, also if you check out used record shops and record shows you can do rather well cheaply.handshake

RE: what's your opinion on downloading music without paying?

and there is so much that you cant find on the internet, i defy anyone to find, catfish hodge "the boogie man gonna get ya" let me know if you can find this on downlode, the original version.

RE: what's your opinion on downloading music without paying?

i think its lame, record stores are dying off all over the country, im not talking about the malls and big chains but the small independant stores, if a person is truelly INTO music collecting these are the places where you will find those cool finds that you dont get at the big chains, and those of us who still care we need to have the physical article, thats part of the collecting, not to mention the artists whos livings are at jeopardy, most music artists hardly make it, im not talking about the big top 40 artists that make up maybe 10 percent of the market but the others who dont sell in the millions and have to tour non stop in order to eek out a living. for me im not for it.

RE: Music equals personality, what are you?

also, the sir douglas quintet, merrell fankhauser, ian hunter,
are among my favotites , so im all over the map musically,
i could take up too much of mine and your time with a list of favorites or genres or subgenres of music that i like.grin
i do however believe the essential years of the classic era of rock are 1966-76. and i do love the 50's as well as blues, surf,
rockabilly,bluegrass,soul,world music,punk,garage,polka,psych,
and the list goes on, not sure what it says about my personality.
i do love music though.cheers

RE: Would you still want me ?

thumbs up thumbs up handshake

RE: Music equals personality, what are you?

not if you are going by the looks of someone unless youve read their posts to know what makes a person tick.
any indication, lou reed's metal machine music" is among my favorite albums, the stooges and mc5, blue cheer, atomic rooster are among my favorite bands

RE: What was the best era for music....

point is just because you never heard it or it wasnt on the radio is no indication of something being not good or worth checking out. there was a lot of crap on the radio, and alot of classic, meaningful, fun, interesting music that wasnt on the radio, and that goes for all eras and genres.
and something to think about... without the stooges & velvet underground, there wouldnt have been a punk movement in the late 70's much less a grunge movement.

RE: What was the best era for music....

i had a debate a few years ago, regarding lonnie mack & van halen
this person said ive never heard of lonnie mack he must not be any good, my arguement was if van halen had the same records and same music that they had and nobody heard them would they still be who they are, this person didnt get my point. well i still would take lonnie mack over van halen.

RE: What was the best era for music....

1966-76, best single year 1971

RE: Why are guys not romantic anymore??

i agree , this is what i'm talking about, i've been pushed away for being kind and decent, and traded in for a macho hotshot, i wasnt allowed to love her all the way, or be who i am, i love doing those little things and knowing it makes my woman feel good makes me feel good.angel

RE: Drinking Age

and the 70's was totally out of control anyway.cheers grin

RE: Drinking Age

i miss spoke i was 19 when it changed so i was legal for a year or so. i will say though there were alot more fights in the bars before they changed to 21m that may have been part of the problem.

RE: Drinking Age

when i turned 19 they changed it so i was legal till they changed then couldnt get served without id stating 21 or older, of course you know that stops nobody, but legally i couldnt till 21 after the change.

RE: Drinking Age

drinking age was 18 where i live when i was 18, they changed it to 21 because of drunk driving and other legalities stemming from youngsters consumming alcahol.

mott the hoople reunion

thanks merky, your good person.angel
