The Mayan Calender doesn't end in 2012 (or 2006) because the Mayans oredicted the World would end in that year ... the Calender ends because the guy carving it broke his chisel.
Please stand by for alternate theses including; Got bored and went hunting, Got a job, Got laid off, Got the sack when the King found him collecting a goodly wage for carving calenders so far into the future the Mayans expected to have a pretty good printer by that time.

You have to remove yourself from the emotional destruction this woman intends to put you through. Understand this, you have given her great power over you and she would have to be a saint with no ego at all not to wield it against you with all her might. My advice, contrary to my fellow philosophers Awesome and TwoDogs is that a paid rooty toot toot won't fix things, as you won't be getting what you want it will probably depress you more (with all due deference to Awesome's and TwoDog's sense of humor). No one has to be "in love" all the time, nor do they need to be "loved" all the time. What would be special about hormonal activity ... errr ... Lurv if it was there always (Hey look! I'm a freakin' romantic).

But seriously, Vulcanic activity and plate techtonics (the movement of the plates of solid rock above the molten magma) are mechanisms and functions of the iron core which is responsible for protecting life on Earth from Solar radiation and particles. Without the roatating magnetic iron core we would have no protective magnetosphere. This magnetic "force field" protects us from the worst of the Sun's blast of charged particles and has allowed life to develope on Earth. Earth would be worse than Mars who's atmosphere has been blown away to a large extent by the Solar wind.

Yep you can ... first understand what love is. It's just like understanding what fear is. Fear is a set of chemicals let loose into your blood stream to promote a fight or flight response. Many people don't understand that and think they are "scared". They are just prepared to fight or flee to preserve their life ... A much smaller slice of the population understand exactly what is happening (even if they don't know that chemicals are coursing through their arteries). They have had this happen to them many times before (often when they were beaten as children) and it holds no fear for them. They sense the hesitation in their opponent and take advantageby initiating a fight knowing their opponent will flee or curlup in a defensive ball after a half hearted defence.
Love is similar. It is chemicals making you want to mate with someone your primitive mind see as a suitable mate. And your prespective mate often knows that he/she already has you. So get control of your chemicals and find mate that your modern mind can meld with too. Don't expect that mate to be the embodiment of Brad Pitt / Angelina Jollie.
It's not romantic, but it's life. Remember, Nature hates a democracy and Nature hates a "level playing field". So find a field in which you can tip the scales. If you're no good at cricket try ten pin bowling. Which by the way is a great way to meet people.
